It's an oddity. This picture's not very flattering either. But in real life, this car looks every bit a specialty sportscar. It has a Ford-but-not-"Ford" V8. The LM version gets 420hp.

The GT2 race car's less than successful, and they've stopped racing the Esperante GTR-1/LMP-1 Roadster-S, but I read that there's one road legal GTR-1 in existance. ;-)

It oozes coolness. Not heart-thumpingly so, therefore not subzero, but close.

I have driven a number of Panoz.... and they only look cool, I voted Seriously Uncool based on the reality o fthe car.

They are slow, badly build, rattle, squeak and literally fall apart as you drive and lose value like crazy. (and are seriously overpriced as new cars)

The single redeeming quality of the Panoz street car is the suspesion - it works pretty well - but the rest of the package is terrible.

It is amazing that Panoz makes the most godawful street cars, yet using the very same chassis is able to create the Panoz GTS race-car - which is an astonishingly well built, reliable and very accomplishd vehicle.

Oddly enough, on paper the Panoz street car seems like the perfect creation - hand built, beautiful carbon fibre body, custom tuned suspension, supercharged V8 engine, hand stitched leather interior, classic long hood short trunk design.... but somehow thye managed to botch what could have been a winning fomula.
