Finally, the European Focus will be available in the United States. I just find it odd that they're still doing it after it's been out for so long. (2010 will be the 6th model year of this style in Europe)

Technically, that's not true. It just means that the next Focus will be international. That means no MK. II Focus RS for us, still. ;-)

I cant stand that there is no focus rs in the US. it would sell. if people buy the srt4 neon, they would so buy a RS.

aaaaawwwwwwwwwww

Dang, you're probably right. There'd be no reason to bring over the other focus after more than 5 model years. This isn't really news then. Blah.

At least it's "confirmed", and if it retains the FoMoCo C1 platform, it'll be as good as the current European Focus, probably better.

I just can't see Ford homologating the current European Focus just for the RS and the ST when the next one is just couple of years off. :?:

...unless they can convince the government that the Focus can be considered a variation of the S40, like I said before. ;-)

How does it work the homologation of the cars there? Very dificult?

Very.

If you do a search on importing cars and homologation on this forum, you'll see a lots of threads with lots of disappointed people. :-(

For example, i was moving there, and wanted to take my car.

Was better to sold here and take the money to buy something there?

Probably yes.

Imported motor vehicles are subject to U.S. safety standards, bumper standards, and air pollution control (emission) standards. Most vehicles manufactured abroad that conform with U.S. safety, bumper, and emission standards are exported expressly for sale in the United States; therefore, it is unlikely that a vehicle obtained abroad meets all relevant standards. Be skeptical of claims by a foreign dealer or other seller that a vehicle meets these standards or can readily be brought into compliance. Nonconforming vehicles entering the United States must be brought into compliance, exported, or destroyed.

Motor vehicles not more than 25 years old must conform to the Department of Transportation (DOT) motor vehicle safety standards that were in effect when these vehicles were manufactured. Passenger cars manufactured after September 1, 1973 must also meet bumper standards.

The following vehicles need not conform to emission or safety requirements but may NOT be sold in the U.S. and may require EPA and DOT declarations:
Those imported by nonresidents for personal use not exceeding one year. The vehicle must be exported at the end of that year-no exceptions or extensions.

And various fees and duties etc... waiting time... blah blah blah.

Anyways, what do you own?

I had a thread in what you drive or ride, but with the transition of the forum plataform, don't know where it is.

we are not getting the current "ST" model... world wide production starting with the next generation ;) .... at which point, the new RS will be here, and there at the same time

Yeah... We don't have anything with the VAG A0 platform in this country, I don't think you can drive it here.

Excellent!
