Ok guys, what I saw is a real preview...or a real scoop!:ohmy::thumbup:
Last Sunday I was in a village not far from my house where every year held a meeting of supercars, mainly Ferrari e Lamborghini (these shots will come at a later time).
I was shooting a group of Ferrari when I saw that many people were surrounding a car...:?:
When I saw I was amazed!
What is this new prototype?
The car is called "Uragano", "hurricane" In English...aggressive name! :-D
The manufacturer calls Filandi and I had never heard before ;-)
Unfortunately I was unable to speak with those who have produced but I have done some shots :-P
I saw that the car is very wide and low, all whole body is still in a prototype phase, is built in aluminium and was beaten by hand.
It seems to me that mounts a V8 engine but I did not understand where both derivative, with a big turbine.
The exhaust is very special done with tubular steel, all craft, the tube frame is not unusual for a supercar. The fuel tanks are down, beside the engine. Suspension are racing and discs and pads are Ap racing.
The design is very special but probably is still under study :-)
Unfortunately I don't have more news ;-)

Now my question:
Is this prototype the beginning of a new Italian supercar?

I hope it is, it would be very exciting to see a born of a new Italian supercar!

Ok, now here some shots:

Oooh. Awesome job!

Is that a Ford V8 I see in there? I can't tell.

I don't know... you think is a V8 Ford engine?

HeilSvenska
03-19-2008, 04:42 PM
I dunno. It could be any V8 with 32 valves. Maybe even Ferrari?

Smartdriver

I don't think it's a V8 Ferrari...head Ferrari V8 engine is different...

?Have you heard it?

But you say car or motor during run?

HeilSvenska

Yes. Have you heard the engine?

I just said Ford earlier because it's relatively easy to find and fix, and it sounds good, and De Tomaso used them. Not that I saw something particularly Ford engine-ish.

you have right, ford v8 is easy to use and modify. The sound is like a v8 but the exsaust is strange...

It looks like a Ford sourced V8... likely from the Ford RAcing department.... but that is one HUGE turbo! I'm sure its very fast.... single turbo DOHC V8.... Turbo v8's sound muffled, and whooshing.. particularly big displacement turbo v8's

I don't think the car looks particularly good.... but its only a prototype, right? Doesn't look like they have much of a budget either....

HUGE thanks for sharing, smartdriver :)

well, I can't see any distributor towards the rear of the engine and the wires plug wires seem like they might converge somewhere at the wrong (front) end of the engine so I'm going to guess it's a Ford? Of course, this guess is based on a guess . . . so who knows

Of course, it should be modern so I doubt it'll have an old school distributor.

Hey, guys, some news about Uragano:

The most important italian car magazine (Quattroruote), in the new number (April 2008), Has wrote a small article on this manufacturer. The manufacturer is situated in Fontanelice, a small village near Imola (circuit...) and cars was made all by hand, using aluminum for body and Tubes and chrome-molybdenum tubes for the frame. The engine is a V8 borrowed from an old Audi A8 4.2.
The engine has been modified wih an addition of a big turbine. The current power is 650 hp!!
He began to build in 2004 only during Sunday and outside of work hours. He took about 3000 hours to build!
One thing is the impressive acceleration from 0 to 400 metres accomplished in just 11,7 seconds with an output speed of 210 Km/h.
0-200 meters are covered after 7,5 seconds!
Theoretical speed is 350 km/h...not yet tested...:-O :-P
The car is not yet over. They will be placed panels and painted in yellow. Even the interior will be carried out thoroughly.
I hope soon to be able to take shots in its final form. ;-)

Not the most conventionally good looking car, but it'll be interesting to see what it will develop into.
