Very interesting list, with a lot of surprises (for me):
-F360 slower then F355? 1,05,61 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta 1,06,28 Ferrari 360 Modena (400cv)
-McLaren F! slower then F40

Is it just me or does this seem extremely out of order? I mean it isn't what you would expect at all. Did all these Lancers have jet engines or something. Very surprising...and dissapointing.

Interesting post! I'm just kinda ignoring the japanese cars. I've kinda learned not to take them into account... that would just get on my nerves :P

1,08,48 BMW M3 (321cv) & 1,09,40 BMW M3 (E46 343cv)

So the previous M3 is supposed to be faster on the track then the new one. In the races the new M3 was allways in front of the older one if I remeber correctly.

1,05,61 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta
1,05,65 Porsche 911 Turbo (996 420cv)
1,05,97 Porsche 911 Turbo (993 408cv)
1,06,28 Ferrari 360 Modena (400cv)

The 355 is quite a bit faster the the 360... a bit strange, again I thougth the 360 was allways in front of the 355 in the races...

still I like these Best Motoring vid's, you've just got to learn to ignore the japanese cars. Like blah & SDFMALEX say: the stickers & the flashy colours give their cars the edge over the others so :P

I don't know if that list is reliable, were all the test done under the same conditions, with the same drivers etc.

You can thrust this list, i saw these laps posted (Ferrari 50 Laps special) but i think it deserves some comments :
1. The times were not posted the same day, even not the same year so the conditions (temperature, dust, dry or semi-dry ...).
2. Some times were posted during a battle race, some not (a flying lap !) and the faster are not always get on a single lap or during the battle, no real rule. For example, the F1 was tested on 1 lap, the F40, F50 were tested during a race and the F50 driver wasn't pushing really hard as he already killed all the rest (355, NSX, Evo ...) at the start of the race.
3. The driver was not always the same for all the cars and even if they are all race drivers, they have not the same level (look at the difference between the 2 Stigs on Top Gear to see how important it can be, conjugated with the difference of conditions : Murcielago 1:29 with Stig 1, 1:23.8 with Stig 2 ... )
4. Some were tested several times on this track, the F40 for example, other not (Mclaren F1, F50 ) .
So, if it is interresting to see the times posted by these cars, it is not representative of the real performance, the better would be to test the cars the same day, with several drivers that would test each car and then give the average of times as some bikes mags are doing.
