thank you ;)

BTW, looks like you've done a fair bit of work to that engine... turbocharging!

what kind of mods have you done, and what kind of ET's are you around now?

Best time I ran my current setup is 13.1@103mph. I had a ok 60ft of 1.8xx and bad reaction time as it was my first time out on slicks. Turbo seals are now leaking and I'm planning to get a new better turbo . Best thing I love is this thing still gets 29mpg at the moment even with the leaky turbo.

here is the video of the run..not the best but its it..

I just replaced the turbo with a GT2871R ballbearing turbo.

Now it makes this much power. Very little to most, but it's alot when my car still gets 33mpg. :)

Needs a proper tune sometime in the summer with I invest in a stronger clutch.

I need an LSD as well.. that is in the works while I am rebuilding my transmission.

I plann to install an oil cooler and take it out on a track soon!

Nice quarter mile time. What kind of transmission (I know nothing about the ratios in Civic transmissions) and gears are you running?

crazyxzer0
04-16-2008, 04:07 AM
it is a stock ex transmission.

here are the gear ratios..

1st gear Ratio 3.25
2nd gear Ratio 1.909
3rd gear Ratio 1.125
4th gear Ratio 0.909
5th gear Ratio 0.75
Final Drive Ratio 4.25

pretty long gears...

Properly built SOHC...nice car

K20 I think is the way to go but whatever floats your boat

crazyxzer0
04-17-2008, 06:45 PM
LOL i thought about K20.

I decided I wanted boost over NA for the time being. Someday I'll make an All motor K20 when it gets a little cheaper.

pretty long gears...

Ehhh, I sure wouldn't go much shorter if I ever wanted to drive on the freeway. Assuming your tires have a diameter of 20" (just a guess), you'd be going about 56 mph at 3000 rpm.

crazyxzer0
04-22-2008, 07:57 PM
22.68 - 23.00 is the standard tire size range.. 3000rpm = 70-75mph.

I used 23" slicks during my dragstrip events.

79TA
04-23-2008, 02:28 AM
well, just running the math, you'd be going about 64.4 mph at 3000 rpm if your tire diameter was 23". That seems like a reasonable, cruising speed for a four cylinder and I personally wouldn't go any shorter on the gearing. I hope your speedo isn't telling you 75mph at 3000 rpm. Then again, that could keep you out of trouble ;-)

(3000rpm/.75*4.25)*(23in*pi)*(60)/(5280*12)=64.39984941 mph

It's pretty simple; I just used your gear ratios to figure out the rpm at the front wheel and then I converted that into inches per minute using your tire diamater. Lastly, inches per minute is converted into mph.

crazyxzer0
05-03-2008, 07:37 PM
the speedo has RPM division by every 500rpm so its hard to tell 3200 from 3100rpm.

If anything, its around 75mph or so under 3500rpm which is reasonable.

I just bought new parts to rebuild my transmission with an LSD differential so I don't have to do stupid peg legs anymore. :)
