Yeah it said they were from a camp in Chad, I wouldn't be surprised if they're Darfur refugees.

I likes to eat, yeh. :P

Very interesting, but not unexpected. Many of the cultures have similar quantities... but few can eat the non-saturdated fats in a Lays bag like an American :P

GOOOD Im trying for 5 years to get 10 kilos fatter, and I dont succed NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!! I eat junk food, crappy food, fats, KFC , Mc, pizza and im stil 74 kilos for 6 years now........

Ive tried Naturalitte, Amway, AloeVera....NOTHING works on me, im 1.84 m tall and 74 kg and no matter what I eat, I cant get a bit fatter.....so, I do think its how your sistem reacts to food that is important.....I have a very fast methabolism, that consumes the food in a hour after I eat it, so it ''leaves'' my body very quick :-D

The United States choice looks very good....And Ive noticed this along the years: notice how Mexico has about 20 bottles of Coca Cola and the Germans a lot of natural juice, that is because of the economical advance of the country....it was the same here, in 2000 Romania was the country with the highest Coca Cola Consumption in East Europe, since than, the economy moved verry good, the people brightened and started drinking natural stuff, so natural juice holds 57% of the market in 2007, and I bought only natural juice for the Holidays, no Coke crap :-D

Dude, You blessed by the fact you can't put on weight. I was the same from birth till 31 - I could not put on weight no matter what thanks to a high metabolic rate. Now I can add about 2-3 lb (1-1.5kg) of weight if I eat trashy food for a month. Still pretty modest weight gain considering I never exercise.

Just because you are thin doesnt mean you are healthy. You can get a high cholestrol level by pigging out on KFC. So be careful!

Interesting array of food R2R :)

German:
- too much food
- too much red meat

American:
- too much junk/frozen food
- no greens. Though I think this is not typical of all American households
- Too much soda

Italian
+looks very healthy
- Not much variety

Mexican
+ Looks great except for the multipel coke bottles

Poland:
Much healthier than the German :)

Egyptian:
- Very healthy

Equador/Bhutan:
- healthy but doesnt seem adequate enough for family size :-(

chad:
:crying:

you have very good metabolism but if you will continue to eat junk food the "clock" can bake and then it will go down the hill and will be hard to stop it as it will be hard to change your eating habbits ;-)

Wise words!

I used to think few years ago when I was really thin I could eat anything I wanted, until I realized how much harm I was doing to my body.

Hmmm... over here, we spend about $150 per week - there are 6 of us + 1 infant.

I guess that's not so bad in comparison.

That German family must be loaded! That's $26,000 a year on food alone, not including eating out at restaurants! Seeing how little food the last few families have is a bit shocking for a sheltered Westerner like me...

Wow, 375€ per week it is way to much for a family like this one living in Germany. Even considering that meat and some green stuff can be expensive, it is to much. And actually the germans dont eat a lot (the portions are allways small), so this example seems to be wrong, but the message of the whole post is interesting anyway.

341 dollars is a bit high too.. 200 seems more like it.

Rather then how much is spent, what is really interesting and important is what is eaten!
