I think the 997 turbo is gt2, the turbo cost about 220 000€. Great prices especially in the Ferrari section :D.
Now I wouldn't buy a ferrari even if I would win the jackpot in the lottery. So I guess the new prices have done their job because now nobody can afford or want to buy those fast and cool cars. Great decision for a carfreak like me.
God damn!
California also has a "temporary" tax added onto it's sales tax. The sales tax rate would be 7.5% but they added an extra quarter percent to help temporarily fund something (I don't remember what exactly). Anyway, our temporary tax, though thankfully much less significant, has been just as "temporary." :lol:

Our government gave the cars a TEMPORARY tax in Januaru 1st 1958. That temporary tax turns 50 years in two months and it has been the reason why our car prices are so f*cking high.
Now, the new tax law will come in force on 1.1.2008. The heavily polluting cars, meaning the fun cars will be taxed higher than before and less polluting cars will become cheaper.
Audi RS4 now 115,000€ will be about 137,000€ next year.
Audi R8 162,000€ -> 204,000€
BMW M6 Cabrio 181,000€ -> 235,000€
Ferrari 612 350,000€ -> 450,000€
997 Turbo 303,000€ -> 391,000€
Corvette Z06 131,000€ -> 166,000€
Nice! :twisted:
I think the only good point is that almost all the diesel cars will be cheaper than before. Some Audi with 3.0TDI could be still plenty of fun! :D
The current dutch list prices of these cars, the diffrence on the 997 and 612!:
RS4: 107.440
R8: 146.200
M6 Cabrio: 171.700
612: 303.427
997 turbo: 196.000
Z06: 121.290

Skaala mentioned in another post the high expense of a car as mundane as mine, an STi!! He said where he lived they are something north of $100k USD!!!! I just cannot believe it!!!! That is just so absurd!! It does make me appreciate what I have though, but that kind of money here would buy something VERY nice....
An Sti in Holland in 2007: € 51.795,- (about 70.000,- USD)

OMG! :shock:
I guess I should really appreciate what I have. I had no idea this was the case and while i truly love the machine, I guess I have always considered it a pretty mundane car (compared to the stuff available in Europe).
How about petrol? At the moment the price here in Holland for 1 liter unleaded fuel (RON95) is: € 1,52 ($ 2,10).
I think this makes another big difference between the costs of driving a STI here or in the US.
