This is horrible news.. Colin McRae is one of the biggest names in Rally known around the world. Rest in peace and I hope the best for his family.
Holy shit, this is sad news and the second Brit top rally driver in the last few years leaving this world in an unlucky way, after having driven on the limit and beyond for years... :(
RIP

I feel like calling people to let them know, for fuck's sake, he was a grumpy looking bloke sometimes but what a bloody legend, I cannot believe it.
My brother's mates dad was killed in a helicopter a few months ago, only metres from their place after a Man U game.
Bollocks, going to sleep upset.

There was a crash at shoreham airshow today too, a Spitfire apparently, my mate saw it and he might not really know what he was watching but it was a prop single wing 2nd world war type aircraft, maybe a hurricane or a spit.
Fuck flying for a bit/

that's some really shitty news :(
Colin was such an exciting driver who seemed to love every part of life.
I can't remember what show it was, but it sort of documented his lifestyle, and he summed up his philosophy on life:
"We're here for a good time, not a long time." - Colin McRae

My favourite driver of all time is gone. Living in the UK I have been fortunate eough to have witnessed Colin's amazing driving skills on many occasion, from his early days to him lifting the WRC crown, only 3 British drivers have won WRC rounds, now sadly they are all gone - Roger Clark, Richard Burns and now Colin

Terrible news. Its been a bad week for motor sports. 3 fatal air race crashes this week alone. The 3rd dead pilot was identified as five-time defending champ Gary Hubler of Idaho.

Very good detail from the hillclimb race organization (The Real Automovil Club from Andorra or so?); and naturally, Colin deserves this silence.
Nonetheless, I wish I were you dani although there was a rallysprint held in the Basque Country on saturday and everything went more than ok here

Oh no. This is beyond terrible. He was such a racing idol to so many.
Too many drivers leaving us early... :(
May his soul rest in peace, and may God carry his family and friends out of this canyon of life.

I couldn't believe what I had just heard when I got the news! He left us with a lot of great memories.
I heard about the accident on Monday and expected to see a news report somewhere but never did. Does anyone else find it disgusting how the American media is pretty much oblivious to this tragedy? In all fairness, the AP story did get linked on news sites, but no one bothered to write their own article.
