I like the show but I didn't like this episode. I guess it's mainly a direct result of my opinion of west coast customs and the culture they belong too(you all know what I mean).

I saw the show on tv.

I am looking forward to next week though. Hot wheels cars as real cars.

man..that show is crazy....i likes the cars....except for the h2 *boooo*...what did they do to the enzo? it cost $2 mill right?

graywolf624

"what did they do to the enzo? it cost $2 mill right?"

The wheels. It was the car at sema with the ugly rims.

deth
01-21-2004, 01:00 AM
thats it? 2 mill and u get an enzo w/ rims?!

graywolf624
01-21-2004, 01:06 AM
yup. apparently those are the only replacement rims for the enzo in the world.

Did I say I have major problems with the topic of the show. I thought the show was well done but its jut one more demonstration of rice imho

i guess i would tend to agree with that comment..but this is just a different type of customization right? maybe not the type i'd like to have on my car...but there are a lot of different ppl out there. oh well i'll watch the ep first and leave my comments till later

i just finished watching the show, and i share some of the same opinions. The dude at WCC wasn't as knowledgable as he should have been about the Enzo. He misquoted lots of specs and features. I have personally seen 2 in real life, and driven one (I worked at a Ferrari dealership for 2 years in highschool). Damn that was nice... don't think theres a single enzo out here in oregon though :(

fyi, i went to HS in s. florida, now i'm in oregon for college

but i still liked the episode- but i LLLOOOVVEEEDDD the first ep. with the Shelby cobra. Anyone know of a rip?

Rice? No that wasnt rice, if you think that was rice you are way off, customization like that has been around longer than these rice rockets. Rice is a 3 foot wing, stickers, a fart can exhaust, body kit, lowered, Type R Badge, and other things. Those are just customizations. My favorite was the 760.

hey is it just me or do the rims on the left side look chrome but on the right look black? i saw that in the show to was that just a camera angle thing

amen to that Blah...

I belive they said the rims on the enzo was $30,000 or something like that. They where ramblinb about the 2mill when refering to what a 'used' enzo would cost or what the current bidding is on them.

I suppose the clientel your talking of greywolf would be recording artists, sports stars and generally anyone else with more money than they can spend.

Although I hate the H2 and everything they represent (soccer moms and trophy wives) I thought what they did to it was pretty awesome.

I have no problem with trophy wives :)

It's not that they aren't hot but all the ones that I know let the money go to there head and they barely ever talk to their own kids

Women talk to much anyways. :)

Yes I understand your point.

Did anyone check out the preview of next weeks show? WHOO. How bout them matchbox cars for adults.

yeah Foose was on the original Rides a year ago making a sweet ass Thunderbird for SEMA and they showed his twin engine Hot Wheels car and some of his other hot Wheels cars

fishfreek
01-21-2004, 11:56 AM
AH. SO thats where Foose comes in. I know people kept asking each week if this was the show with Foose in it and I was lost. Do you happen to have that show? Maybe it was the pilot episode they stuck out there last year to see if there would be interest in a full fledged series.

Your definition of rice and mine are different. What you said I define as a tacky type of rice.
When you spend the price of a hummer to change the wheels/color/ fog the tail lights/ and add bits of chrome you are ricing up the car.
Anytime you try to make a car look like something it isn't or spend way more on a part that decreases the performance of the vehicle in favor of look. I define that as rice.

And the athletes are where the trends for this crap come from. You did notice they all put special badges on their cars. I saw one thing done for performance the whole show. Everything else was just adding weight.

Thats just my opinion. If it were just stereos inside Id be cool, but 30000 dollar wheels that are too big for the car? 24" rims on a hummer (especially when you don't add to rotors) Those are bad ideas for perofrmance sake as well. Adding chrome bits everywhere is same thing to me.

man i think those guys need to find something better to do with their money. it's like every black celebrity has an h2 or whatever's the newest off-roader and they throw it to shit with huge rims and ICE thinking they're original. this is what makes rappers and NBA/NFL stars suck

SOMEONE FIRE JASON PRIESTLY

It wasn't a bad episode, definately not as good as the others though. I don't mind seeing people customize a car like that. I just wouldn't ever do it. I see no need in a 10 inch screen in the dash of my car. lol
What I do like is how they showed what it takes to do such a thing. It was kind of cool to see the guy cut and make a new box for everything and use what looked like fiberglass to make it look like it came with the car.

That Chicago guy annoyed me to no end. He seemed to be real into himself and his Hummer. Sorry, your Hummer isn't that special dude. I like how he said he had to take his 26" wheels off because it was too hard to drive! LOL, you'd think you would realize that long before you put them on!

When they showed the Enzo and said it was gonna be modified, I cringed. I figured some idiot would want some DUBS put on. What they did was cool, but not near worth the cost it took to do so. It was perfect in complete stock form.

I liek how they stated that by doing what they do to their cars, they are making it different from everyone elses. Yea, but only so much, it's still a Hummer/Escalade. But now you have huge wheels (like everyone else) and a huge stereo (like everyone else). If you want to be different, don't buy a Hummer.

There is nothing wrong with an insanely loud stereo and tv's in your car/truck trust me if you ever have something like that you wouldn't change it. Not one of our cars has he original stereo. as soon as we buy them they get all new Alpine setups. And our truck has tv's in the headrests and the dash but the dash one is a flip up and it's very nice when you drive long distances with family or friends, trust me there are parts of the US you could give a shit about when your driving through like the miles and miles of corn fields that never end.

Hey, I'm in Minnesota, we've got miles and miles of cornfields too!

Honestly, I don't like huge stereos in cars, I never have. I don't like having thumping bass pounding my head as I'm driving down the road. All of my friends have aftermarket stereo's, I don't. The screens I can see beign usefull for little kids to keep them quiet. But you dont need, 10 different screens!

I just had to cringe when I saw the wheels on the Enzo. It just looked wrong to me. I guess the point was to throw away some decent money to make your Enzo 'unique', or some such. As to the H2, whee. Yet another trailer home on wheels to have to scoot around.

I'm definitely looking forward to next week's, though. Having some of those Hot Wheels toy cars from my childhood, it's rather neat that the seemingly impossible has actually been built. Not to mention Foose has a way with making a car look just absolutely spectacular. Just look at the GT-500 from the newer "Gone In 60 Seconds". Simply leaves me speechless, looking at that car.

I remember watching this episode a couple of days ago. I was hoping that they'd do more to the Enzo than just rims, but owell I wouldn't really mess with a 1 million dollar car.

FUcking idiot JASON PRIESTLY. The Ferrari f50 Enzo to be exact...were the fuck did he come from? He is a car inthusiast and he doesnt even know the name of the most technologicaly advanced supercar? Fucking dickhead.

As for that whole culture I really could not care less. The problem is that all of these people try to be original not realising that they are copying each other all the time.

Every black celeb(or anyone out of the so called "ghetto, MAN! Im from da HOOOOOD..... YA HERD!" out there got an H2 and an escalade with lcds and 22' rims.

Now trying to mod the Enzo is just an insult. These people or they owner has absolutly no respect for ferrari. They made 399 of them. Save it, dont touch. Its perfect as is. LEAVE IT.

Im getting sick of ricers and rappers/sportsman.

And whats up with TVs all over? Dont they have homes? And if its for long distance dont they have jets?

Well at least they are not doing lowriders or classic hotrods. Am tired of seeing those. When people hear of West Coast customs, people automatically think of Barris-mobiles, Chopper bikes; etc.

what's wrong with Hot Rods?

Nothing at all, really. It's just that when you see a TV show here it's either those candy-flaked painted hotrods that they show or those cheesy Import customs YO! Holla! I just like to see a little diversity.

Now I must defend Jason Priestley. No, I did not see the show yet, therefor I did not hear what he said, but as far as being a car enthusiast, oh yes he is. I have seen him race everything from Endurance cars to a Trans Am spec SCCA racer and he is really serious about his passion for racing. Back in the mid 90's I saw him race at Road Atlanta, he was racing in the final race of the weekend and was driving that Trans Am spec Mustang I mentioned earlier. Halfway through the race him and bunch of other drivers were packed together pretty tight when a car ahead of him lost control , sending all the other cars all over the place. Now Jason was in the middle of the pack, the road was pretty narrow so he didn't have much room to do anything so he braked hard to avoid all the other cars, his brakes locked up and he did a complete 360 while doing about 70 mph , corrected and proceeded to continue on with the race. My friend looked over at me after what we witnessed right in front of us and said to me " Not bad for a pretty boy" I considered what he said as a true compliment to Jason and after what I saw I had to agree.

He did get fucked up pretty bad in a racing accident like a year or two ago also.

Yeah, in an IRL car if I believe. And I'm not defending him about his alcohol problem and DUI's. Hope he has gotten rid of his demons.

Pretty much, yes. Like I said, one is fine when you have kids or on a long trip, but I see no need for a billion tvs in a car. I could care less that people do it, I just see no point in it.

Great cars from West Coast but some of their cars are not good looking at all they are just over the top.
