So, I bought a bike...

Well, it happened quite quickly.

After some brainstorming I realized a big Harley won't fit my present needs and would also be too expensive, even if second hand.
The BMW RT1100S I was about to test is too big and too much of a long distance weapon..

The other day while going from my office to a client nearby, I passed in front of a small bike dealer and there I saw it...

2001 Ducati Monster 900cc, 8500 km, only one careful owner, custom color (light blue.. delicate, but much better than the obvious red or yellow ones), perfect shape...

Today I paid for it and if all goes well, Friday I'll take it home once it will have its plates :)

Can't wait!

Yup, I passed the 165'000 km on the 964 today and I didn't touch the A4 since june I think :D

I also found a nice white 3.2 911, but I fear my funds are at their lowest atm :D

Congratulations on a fine motorcycle!!!! What year is it? Not that it matters because what you have there is a timeless motobike(ironically, so is the 911-TIMELESS!) Great taste in both cars and bikes there TT, bravo, mate. I wish i could get that white 3.2 911 you mentioned but I fear the shipping would be cost-prohibitive! Always wanted a 911, ever since I was a little kid; always wanted a Ducati too! I nearly bought a 900 SS years ago but backed out, intimidated by the Desmo thing ( I like to do all my own work). Now I wish i would've got it, the price was great and I have discovered the workings of the desmo is not Voodoo afterall. NJOY that thing. Is Switzerland as bad as the auto-media says, re: anti-car and bike?

It's a 2001 model, so no more carbs and welcome the fuel injection ;)

And yes, IMO it will be a nice garage with the Porsche and Ducati side by side :)
Switzerland when you're used to it, isn't that anti-car/bikes afterall, and Italy is just 15 minutes away :)

Although I ave heard the early fuel injected bike can be a bit snatchy this can be fixed on a dyno, which you'd need to do when you chage the exhausts.

The Duc will have its page I guess, but don't get too excited, I am not the kind of guy that goes finetuning his machine for ages like dingo is doing on his Evo for instance :)

New exhaust, maybe some more here and there like wheels indeed, but I guess it will stop quite quickly and the rest of the time will be spent riding it instead of toring it apart!

The wheels aren't cheap so go for pipes first.

Dang, it's hard to resist. They confirmed it will be ready with plates and insurance Friday. That's basically less than 48 hours, but they'll be daaaaamn long!
