Well, i believe everyone have already "flewby" a litle, or a lot. So, in wich car you have traped your top speed, and how it was?

My top is with the Corsa i made the Getaway - see the topic "My first own getaway video, and i´m just 16 years old..." - in a highway here in brazil i have traped about 183 km/h with it, wide open throtle during about 5 minutes.

The corsa is not mine, it´s my mom´s car, a 1.0 liter engine with 60 horsepowers. In city streets, my top is 170 km/h. You can see in the video i made. If you want it, take me on the ICQ or MSN Ã*´ll send it to you.

The speedometer of my dad's car only goes to 220km/h, i drive it passing the 220 mark, then the "pointer" stoped at 230 because the "thingie" to put the parcial counting to 0, and the rev's keeped going up.

In my brother's car (ibiza tdi 90hp) i drive it following a Golf Tdi (110hp) both of us where in the maximum speed, about 220hm/h in the speedometer.

It was pretty stable, not as stable as a sports car obviously, but the suspension and downforce have been changed to help. The car has only hit that speed twice in its life, once with me behind the wheel, and once with my dad. It really was at top speed, we could not have got 1 more rpm out of it lol. As you say it is not really designed for 170mph, we had it tuned to hit 155 easily. In fact its 0-60 is slightly slower than standard due to the gearing.

Well my wedding present from my wife was a porsche gt3 for 24 hours to drive.

It was an unbelievable experience and since then i am infected by the porsche virus. Sound, handling, man and the mighty brakes!!! and of course the acceleration - i'll never forget that.

On the german autobahn i did 280 km/h in the night on wet surface.
- I have to say it was a little bit too fast for that conditions, no xenon-lights, so the visibility wasn't the best. But i did it. (together with my wife (she enjoyed and my sister in law - she enjoyed it too))

One day I'll buy a Porsche GT3 - but right now i am saving money for a porsche 964 c2 with 250 hp or a 964 turbo with 320 or 360 hp.


My personal - Top-Speeds were
280 km/h - Porsche GT3 - very stable on the road up to 280 km/h :flasingsmile:
270 km/h - passenger in a chevy-nascar - charlotte/north carolina - oval circuit - very stable - i still remember the g-forces in the corners :crazyeyes:

I hit the 300 km/h barrier a few times with my crazy friends in Bangkok. The highway (toll) from Bangkok to Chonburi (Pattaya) is one of the best places in the world to check your topspeed. (26 km's straight and no traffic)
With my BMW 323Ti Compact i regulary hit the limited 230 km/h on the European highways/Autobahns

I've driven the family SAAB 9-3i at just above 190 km/h indicated. That's the cheapest model with 130hp and no turbo.

The car was just as stable as at half the speed. I was quite impressed. It happened on an autobahn through Germany, with four persons and luggage for three weeks of vacation. We were probably close to the legal weight limit of the car. Still the ride was smooth.

I have no problem believing that a SAAB 9-5 Aero is stable at 272km/h (170 mph). The standard Aero has a top speed of 240 km/h (150 mph). Even though those last 32 km/h makes a lot of difference at that speed, SAAB wouldn't be satisfied with a safety margin that small. After all SAAB aims at a sporty but sensible image.

Well guys i guess you have raced so fast your cars. Nice, because here in Brazil the fastest cars(ordinary without upgrades) reach just about 210 km/h. Only in turbo and blowered cars we can go up to 240...260 km/h, with long gear ratios set and many other parts.

For sample, i´ve never gone more than 190 km/h while driving. Just toped around 190 km/h with my friend´s A3 turbo, and 183 km/h with my mom´s corsa 1.0.

Not because i am afraid to race at highspeeds, no. I guess these speeds are not enough for me, because i have already gone up to 270 km/h on the back of my uncle´s CBR 1100 xx and it was so nice.

5 gear manual transmition. The top in speedometer is about 182 km/h, what i´ve reached, about 6 minutes of WOT.

Yesterday, I drove in 250 kmt in my fathers Mercedes SL 55 AMG when I was practicing for my drivers license. I'm not 18 untill the 17th of March and that's when I'm going to get my drivers license. I love fast cars. I'm going to Nurburgring this summer to see how I can handle the SL on track. :lol:

155 MPH IN A 740i it maxed out damn governer.

I tacked out a 99 civic @ 145 before the end of fouth gear. shifted, kept it in fith gear for a couple sec's and then put it in nuetral.
