The owners of many exotics get so little seat time in their cars, they often turn around and bite them in the ass...

The reasons for limited seat time could be fear of wrecking (how ironic), insurance imposed annual mileage limits, lease impose mileage limits, government imposed mileage limts - or they are too busy with their wealthy play-boy life style to enjoy the many toys they have accumulated... ;)

The F50 is the only one that doesn't make me sad and/or angry. Because, as you can see from the picture, it happened on a track, where that car belongs. If you're going to buy a car that goes 200mph, and then try to actually do it...do it on a track! That car died honorably, doing what it was built for.

There's nothing wrong with peeling away from a light in your exotic, making a little smokeshow, or blasting it up a big empty road at high speed...but nailing a pole on a city street? Or oversteering your Zonda into a fire hydrant on a sidewalk? Dude, that's asinine.

That's why I say "Lack of seat time..."

I have spent the last 25,000 miles behind the wheel of my Z06 - it took quite a while before I got to the point where I know every part of this car's personality - you cannot get to know a car of this type by driving it 50 miles every other month in between getting mocca lattes from Starbucks...

It's really sad what can happen to these cars and the idea that they are all hand built and they don't really stock these parts in bulk it will cost more to fix half these cars than it did to buy them.

Poor cars. It's a shame crash this kind of cars, and you don't have to be idiot in such a car in the strees, no oversteering, no too much speed if the road isn't empty. It's impossible not to take some corner in order to feel the g forces pushing you in the side of your seat, or hit the limiter in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear and hear the engine singing behind you... if you awnt more, go to the track!
BTW, the F50 was crashed in a track, I read of it in Pulpracing.com
It wasa a driver's fault, it gone a little out of the road, tried to control the car but the right thing to do was go in the grass, slowing down and then return into the asphalt. Dough said so
