So the USGP at indianapolis has been axed for the near future. wot are your thoughts?

personally i think the USGP should return to Long Beach. seeing as how i go to college there that would be great. Las Vegas would be pretty cool too.

Erm...good idea. Just looking at the empt ystands during races hints that the venue should change. So far Vegas and New York have proposed to host next years event.

Yes you're correct. The old F1 circuit used to go right up the Caesar's Palace valet - but I guarantee you that will not be the case if they do a modern GP here. The Champ Car Vegas GP was entirely around Main St. and Charleston. Old Down town - aka Fremont Street.

Indy was a stupid circuit. I don't think Vegas would be much better, honestly. The track they used for Champ Car was weak. Unless they made it a night race 8) Maybe they'd think of using the Spring Mountain track?

Personally I'd like to see the new GP go to Laguna Seca, Road America, or to Long Beach. They'd never go to rural WI, though so I guess RA's off :(

I agree with you, Road America 'd be awesome, but maybe not safe enough for F1 :?

How about road atlanta. I think it would work well there. Enough hills and tight turns to at least be entertaining.

Only indy currently has the facilities to support F1... but LAs Vegas has 2 airports, tons of hotels, and supposedly would be a street track.

Needs to come back to the streets of Detroit.

Indianapolis may not host an F1 race next year but it will host a stage in Moto GP with a modified track. If it does return in 2009, talk is the same track modifications will be applied for F1.

Laguna Seca is probably the most interesting American closed track in my opinion. But it may not have the facilities to support an F1 event.

I never liked the Indianapolis track. Good decision to get rid of it. F1 was never as popular in the US anyway, compared to Europe or Asia, because there are other top-notch championships. I also don't think two Australian grands prix would be done. I like the idea, but the interest just isn't there. We have the V8 Supercars and more motorsport enthusiasts watch that than F1.

I would think Laguna Seca would be a little small for F1. I'd love to see a street race in New York or Vegas.
