Sport Auto-Audi R8 Nordschleife lap onboard

The Audi has done a time of 8:04. Not too fast considering it was equipped with ceramic brakes and P-Zero Corsas semislicks. But apparently H. von Saurma liked the car a lot.

now im no nurburgring expert but i think the time is cuz it doesn't have a humungous amount of power to get around under 8 mins...that car looked so stable around the track though, im glad it's whooping 911 ass

With semi-slicks and ceramic brakes, the time is relatively slowly IMO... although I'm no expert :wink: I guess they wanted to save some seconds for the upcoming V10 R8 :P

The next Audi R8 V10 will be definitively a race beast. :twisted: I expected a time of ~7.58min, but 8.04min is not bad either, but i'm sure with R-Tronic transmission and MagneticRide suspension the R8 will be more faster...this kind of devices are essential on the Ring. :wink:

I guess AWD and superior power don't help the R8 as much as other cars down on power, and w/out semi-slick tires that are significantly faster...

You can see HvS trying to reign in the understeer in the higher speed corners, but at low speed it didn't seem like there was much at all.

Interesting car, and sure, 8:04 is fast... but like a few of you, I'm a little disappointed in the lap time... perhaps Zee audi test driver could lap 6 seconds quicker :P

It looked to me that he may have running with stability control because of the noticeable/excessive understeer. I have read that it is supposed to be more neutral than that.
