there was this orange MC12 racecar ...

:hmm: this means, that beside the well known black(orange) MC12-XX there's also a racing version :shock: :fuck:

...probably the world's first public appearence !!

This is the black/orange one that you all knew some time ago. The guys blew the engine up with 2 weeks before the Top Run 2007. If you remember I told you once in a topic in the News section, about this car, that they wanted to tune it some more....well...this is the result.

So...theres only one Maseratti Corse MC12-XX...this one :D

^ Almost correct. The MC12 Corsa is a "track day special" of the MC12 GT1 racer. It's kind of comparable to the Ferrari FXX.
And how EDO managed to get the car road legal is a question for me as well...

I think that 800hp was the power the original MC12 Corsa had - same as the FXX. Without the technical regulations of the FIA, which cuts down the power to 600hp... these engines are well over 700hp as far as I know.

A crew member told me, that this EDO Corsa does have 800hp, and the streetversion MC12XX has ~750hp (on the EDO homepgae, the state ~800hp for the street-version however :hmm::wink:).

Im Rahmen der FIA-GT-Weltmeisterschaft fuhr Maserati im vergangenen Jahr seine Konkurrenten in Grund und Boden – mit dem MC12 GT1 (aus dem bereits der MC12 hervorging) gibt es jetzt zum Gesamtsieg den auf 12 Exemplare limitierten – Maserati MC12 Corsa.




Der Über-Maserati wiegt fast 400 kg (1.150 statt 1.531 kg) weniger als der Basis MC12. Das entspricht einem Leistungsgewicht von atemberaubenden 1,5 kg. Mit 755 PS und 740 Newtonmeter maximales Drehmoment fährt er dem normalen MC12 (632 PS) auf und davon.




edo competition wagt sich prinzipiell auch an diese Extremsportler und gibt ihnen den letzten Schliff! So wurde ein spezielles von edo competition entwickeltes und von KW gefertigtes Sportfahrwerk eingebaut. Die getrennt und unabhängig voneinander einstellbare Druck- und Zugstufendämpfung erlaubt wirklich individuelle Fahrwerksanpassungen. Das einzigartige System ermöglicht mit seinen 3 Regelkreisen die Einstellung der Druckdämpfung im Low Speed Bereich, während der für den Komfort entscheidende high Speed Bereich fest definiert ist. Echte Renntechnik für die Straße! Weiterhin wurde die bereits im straßenzugelassenen Maserati MC12 verfügbare Lift-Funktion übernommen, um Beschädigungen an Front und Unterboden zu vermeiden.




Motorseitig lässt edo competition den 755 PS starken MC12 Corsa unangetastet. Der 6,0-Liter-12-Zylinder darf seine Power aber durch eine neu entwickelte edo competition - Sportabgasanlage kundtun - und das macht sie mit einem infernalischen Klang der garantiert „echte Gänsehaut“ verspricht! Die Sportabgasanlage mit elektronischer Klappensteuerung lässt die ganze Kraft bereits optisch durch die Doppelrohre mit je 100 mm Durchmesser erahnen. edo competition legte hierbei wieder größten Wert auf Qualität. Der Endschalldämpfer und die Endrohre bestehen aus haltbarem V2A-Edelstahl. Und nicht zu vergessen - die Fernbedienung mit der die Lautstärke geregelt werden kann!




Für das bessere Kaltbremsverhalten im Straßenbetrieb hat edo competition eine Sportbremsanlage aus Keramik-Verbundwerkstoff mit 396 mm Bremsscheibe vorne und 360 mm Bremsscheibe hinten eingesetzt sowie Spezialbremsbeläge vorne und hinten.

Für den edo MC12 Corsa ließ edo competition neu entwickelte Schmiedesport Felgen in schwarz anfertigen. Sie kommen an der Vorderachse in der Größe 10 J x 19 und an der Hinterachse in 13 J x 20 zum Einsatz. Der von edo competition eingesetzte Komplettradsatz ist mit der Bereifung 265/35 ZR19 (Vorderachse) und 335/30 ZR20 (Hinterachse) ausgestattet.



Damit man diesen einzigartigen edo MC12 Corsa nicht nur auf der Rennstrecke bewundern kann, ist eine Straßenzulassung in Vorbereitung.

Aby sa dosiahol takýto signifikantný nárast výkonu, tuner musel upravi� ve¾a vecí – nové sú vaèkové hriadele, úpravou prešlo mazanie, nechýba športový kazalyzátor, športový vzduchový filter, prerobený nasávací systém. Nová je napríklad aj olejová pumpa.

A tak sa svojmu majite¾ovi môže toto Maserati odvïaèi� výkonom 800 koní pri 8 500 otáèkach za minútu. K ubrzdeniu tejto mašiny sú vpredu kotúèe 396 mm, na zadnej náprave potom 360 mm.

Auto má na prednej náprave 19 palcové disky s 265/35 pneumatikami, na zadnej potom sú to 20 palcové disky s 335/30 pneumatikami. Vozidlo je vybavené aj systémom kontroly tlaku v pneumatikách, ktorý informuje aj o teplote každej z nich vodièa prostredníctvom displeja. Disky môžu by� dodané v nieko¾kých farebných prevedeniach.
