10 things i would change about driving in my country if i were in charge:
1. Say goodbye to the speed limit, except for rush hours. Minimum speed limits WILL be imposed and enforced instead.
2. Driver's licenses will be much harder and more expensive to obtain. Included in the mandatory driver's training will be proper use of a freeway on ramp, precision car control (ie what to do if your car gets sideways or spins out).
3. Elderly drivers will be required to retest every 2 years or sooner depending on driving record. Family members can request they be retested as well.
4. In order to drop gas prices, more domestic oil fields will be opened for drilling.
5. Insurance companies are going to have the leash tightened. Since not everyone and their dog will be given a license, they shouldn't have to worry about the retards getting on the road and making them pay out. Therefore, rates will drop.
6. The first budget to be looked at is going to be the highway budget. If people are going to be putting their foot down, the roads are going to need to be smoothed out..
7. Federal safety guidelines will be in place for a National Vehicle Safety Inspection due with emissions inspection for registration renewal. This will make every state conform to the same requirements for vehicle inspections ensuring the road worthiness of the vehicles that are driving around you. There are way too many driving around that shouldn't be.
8. Inner city freeways will be clear of semi trucks. How? They will have their own special freeways. Why? because traffic seems to move much smoother without those things lumbering around. Oakland has a stretch of 580 that prohibits all trucks over 4 and a half tons from driving on it. The road is in better shape, and traffic flows sooooooo well. Outside of the cities, learn to share.
9. no more right of way for pedestrians. crosswalks will be a thing of the past. there will now be sky-bridges over every intersection. If you get creamed crossing the street, it's your own damn fault. You should have used the sky bridge. Bicyclists, no more special treatment. You have to follow the same rules as the cars do already, but since the car is bigger and easier to see than you are, cars get right of way.
10. Sat-Nav with audible instructions will be standard in all cars. No more retards with bad directions going 5 mph reading street signs because they don't know where the fuck they are going. Bluetooth will also be standard and no cell phone in the US will be sold without it. Text messaging will be disabled when bluetooth is paired. No vanity mirrors in the sun visors either. In fact, the interior rearview will be replaced by a HUD system feeding a live video feed of what's going on behind out thanks to a camera in the trunk lid. Only the side mirrors will remain. (this rule should pretty much cut out the distractions)
So what would you guys do?
