320i 150hp/190nm
A3 150hp/210nm

Ok so here's the deal, a couple of my friends with their cars are meeting soon and they want to see who is faster. I reckon the audi is due to the fact that it's a turbo hence more torque early down and it is lighter.

It think you agree with me till here.

Now the problelem is that as a BMW fan I have to stand on the bimmer's side. Would a chip (particularly this one http://www.hs-elektronik.com/datenblatt-e/bmw-e36-320i-24v.html) make the needed difference. I think it will be another story with the chip, what do you think??

Not much point in chipping a normally aspirated car.

I know that guys, I was asking theoreticaly.

And yes a chip on the 1.8t will bring some major power!

I wouldnt be sure the Audi would be faster than the BMW as in stock form they are not very fast, to put a chip on that bmw engine are throwing money out the window imo.....put it in the Audi instead and you will have new car.....

So you say that the audi won't be faster... how come

^ As I see this perspective from person other than me, I am now asking myself how could I ever second guess my beloved BMWs. :)

thanks for straighting my mind, if it happens that I do race them I'll let you know the outcome! ;)

go bmw..... 0X

oops, one more thing. Ok I know there is (comparatively) not enought bang for the buck when it comes to chipping a N/A engine, but I can't help think that those 20 nm+ promised would make a difference. (and 15-18hp) What do you say?
