America is far away from Monaco, so I do n't get to see neat cars that often. I have to get excited when I see cars like this.

This is the "Pimp my Ride" car from Season 3 Brooke's car. She apparently sold it on Ebay and it ended up in Houston.

I saw one of the pimp my ride cars on the 22 freeway a couple of years ago. I revved the TA's engine as a passed the guy, but got no reaction. He got off and headed to somewhere in Westminster.

It was the car based on one of the Need For Speed Underground cars, lol. Thankfully, Southern California is stuffed full of great cars and I have alot more to look forward to. 2 days ago I saw 2 different new Z06's, not at a show but just randomly on the freeway.

The buyer was a women. Naturally. Finds driving it a problem as she is always followed, stopped in parking lot etc. makes her feel uncomfortable. Build quality starts to decline at about five feet. It has some electrical issues.

I remember seeing the Baja bug get sold on eBay with descriptions like, "TV in drivers door does not work."

Wouldnt be surprised if 90% of these "pimped" rides are sold within a few months of getting "pimped." But what a great way to make a good buck out of your old piece of shit beater.

I hope X to the Z exhibit comes to my door and pimps my RAV FO!

Like any other TV show such as when Oprah gives you a car, you still owe the tax man.

They give you a 1099 saying how much you need to add to your taxes and they do no withholding.

Most people would have to sell it or take out a loan just to keep it.

Still better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Shit, you're right. Didn't think that people had to do that with their newly pimp'd rides.

Sucks that you have to shell out a grand or two just to keep your old, but now shiney piece of shit car.

Where it is bad is, what is the "prize" valued at.

Imagine your on Price is Right and you dont get the car showcase. So you bid on the crappy furniture, hottub and trip to Iran and the other dipshit over bids and you win. If your showcase was valued at $24,000 you owe the US government $6,000 CASH. If you win the new car and decide not to keep it. Your taxed at full retail not what you can unload it for.

Imagine how the Pimped people feel about the value of their work. What if they said the car was $50,000 after they were done. You owe the US $15,000.
