Getting a nod of respect from a superbike rider when you're driving a car is a rare event.

You have to work hard with your choice of machine to get The Nod - or foot lift, or hand twitch, or whatever cool signal the biker deems appropriate - because they just aren't interested in cars. And even if they do like cars in a parallel non-biker universe, they wouldn't be seen dead acknowledging the fact when they're travelling on two wheels.
But it can happen - if you're driving the right car. It helps to be wearing a helmet but it's not absolutely necessary - being heavily exposed to the elements is enough. That doesn't mean any random roadster will earn you The Nod, no matter how fast or expensive it is. A poseur Porsche or Ferrari or Lambo won't work.
There should be no hint of a roof in evidence, and a total lack of windscreen is a bonus. It needs to be perfectly clear that what you're pedalling is hardcore and that you're entering into the spirit of travel properly - pared-down and pure.
In my experience, only a quick non-windscreen Caterham or Westfield gets The Nod. An Ariel Atom is a safe bet - you get serious respect from bikers when you're driving one of those. Same with a Light Car Company Rocket.
The rest of the sorry is below.. Good read.. i like vehicles likes this.. I dream one day i'll buy a carterham. :)
