Ok, I just found out a little while ago that I get free space from Comcast. It's only 25MB (I thought it would be more), but for free I can't complain. At least not too much. :lol:
I'm going to put up new videos every few days for everyone here. Odds are you might have seen some of them, but not everyone has.
The bigger files I'll have to use Winrar or something and put up each part every other day or something. Yes, it sucks to do it that way, but it's the only way it's gonna work.

It has unlimited bandwidth but, if it becomes a burden on Comcasts servers, they pull the plug. Which is not too big of a deal, but if it keeps on happening, I'll lose the free space. So, please, keep the links for yourself.

and thanks for putting the vid up for me. i wasnt here to get it but i appreciate the offer. i had to spend all day at a car show in like 100+ weather hung-over. i got a few pics ill put up. it was the Rat Fink reunion so the cars were all old school hot-rods, all primer with big motors and other odd trinkets on them, not really my favorite custom style i prefer more of a finished look and i care more about performance than looks but these guys come up with ideas that are useful. i cant believe i typed such a long paragraph with so few periods in it LOL

I did find a new video though, at least I've never seen it. It has lots of footage that most of us have seen, but with all the other stuff in it, it makes it like a whole new video. It's very well done too.

This weekend I was supposed to go to the ALMS race at Road America but due to the lack of time, I'm not going. If it was less than a 7 hour drive, I'd be there.
So instead, me and a friend are heading up to the Ojibwe Forest Rally about an hour and a half from my house. A few other friends are actually in the rally! Should be exciting, it'll be my first rally. Too bad it's not a WRC event though.
My friend that I'm going with has both a digital camera and a digital video camera, so hopefully I can get a bunch of pics and footage to share with everyone.

It's pretty easy to use. It can be complicated, but it took me all of 10 minutes to figure out. I haven't figured out how to publish a webpage, but I really don't care about that.
You can upload two different ways. You can use an FTP program, which I've never tried. And you can do it by logging into Comcast and use the http upload thing. You have to be using Internet Explorer 6 for http uploading to work though.
I get about 25MB free.
So, yea, it's pretty easy to use. And it is free, at least in my area. You might want to check, it might be different in your area.

can't say enough about that 1977 safari video. jesus those guys were hardcore! i'm not sure if my eyes are fooling me but either they never wore any protective gear or they just like going flat out on road sections. seeing ari vatanen sliding off the road in a t-shirt is priceless, this video is grand. and then driving down a river, ACROSS a river with a kenyan on your trunk, musta been quite a spectacle. and fishtailing in and out of time control, man :lol: and is it just me or did the ford service area consist of an open van?

Also, one more thing. I got this super excellent video off of eMule. (it took a week to download!)
It's called "The Worlds Best Rally Cars" It's awesome, a ton of action from 40 or 50 years ago right on up till about 2000. It has the Pug 206 and Impreza in it, so it's not entirely all old stuff. It's a damn good video and if you like rally racing at all, you'll love the video.
The only problem is it's just a tad over 700MB! If I hosted it, I would have to split it into about 30 different parts. So even if I uploaded a new part every day, it'll take about a month to get all the parts to everyone.

So the question is, do you want me to do it?

no easy way to do it. you could upload it to your own ftp from your computer though it'll take AGES to download from you, but those who want it bad enough would be willing to wait out the download process. splitting it into 2384750238465174650723465023478 different parts would just suck. or just put it on kazaa and tel us what the exact file name is

It looks like it may be. In the post I found them, the guy said the Uni was doing maintenence on the servers, so my guess is to try again in a day or two.

I could put it in my shared folder on Kazaa, but if I'm the only one who has it, it'll just say more sources needed.
Or if you guys want, you can download eMule and get it yourselves.
If I did my own FTP thing, it'll be way to slow. My upload is capped at 30Kb/sec.

I won't be putting up vids for a few more days because of a problem with my computer. It's all messed up, so I'm in the slow process of burning all my videos and junk to discs. Encoding vids to make it a SVCD sucks, it takes forever! It doesn't help that the one SVCD is 4GB. It's been encoding for 6 hours and is only 68 percent done!

The videos were hosted on my freewebspace I got from my ISP. I've since got into a small argument with them and they turned my service off. They tried to charge me for an extra 3 months of service on the basis that I never paid them. Which isn't true. All that happened a while ago and just the other day I got a letter from them sayign they were "investigating". I don't know what needs to be investigated, I sent them copies of the checks I wrote to them and that they cashed!

Anyway, like Geekdiggy said, your way to late! Once I'm back to cable access (56k sucks!) I'll be hosting more of my WRC vids.
One good thing about losing my cable internet is that I haven't seen a bill since, yet I still get cable TV! lol

If you search throguh the thread, you might find some links to other sites that work. If you want to use eMule, there is a ton of WRC vids.

I love WRC. It's the most fun and the most suspensful to watch. There are so many different aspects a WRC driver must take into consideration when he's driving on a leg, and to see these awesome drivers conquere the elements at 90+ mph is something very entertaining. Okay, found a great WRC Monte Carlo 2004 video:

It is superb quality and has been put together by some really talented guys. It goes for 4:41, but don't be put off by the 2 minute intro which shows photoshoots around Monaco, drivers face-to-face, etc. It doesn't show a whole lot of variety among the WRC (no crashes, no snowy sections, seems to all be taken at about 3 or 4 different locations about the rally). It's definitely worth having though! Like I said, superb quality.
