24/7 on HBO is pretty damn good. I don't know, I hope that Oscar pulls an upset, but it looks like Mayweather got him outmatched.

I am cheering for Oscar though, one last great fight!

Whatever happens, it's bound to be a BIG fight - I'm guessing it's gonna go the distance. Apparently 50 Cent is gonna walk Mayweather out to the ring!

Looking foward to it - it's on at 3 in the morning here, so gonna (TIVO) it!

just like i had expected. mayweather won by split decision...his percentage of punches landed was over 50%, which is pretty damn accurate. still, one of the best fights ive seen in a while.

It really wasn't that good to watch, but vintage Mayweather nonetheless. He just let De la Hoya be the aggressor. De la Hoya made a good point at the end when he said you usually have to beat the champ to win the belt. Floyd did not "beat" the champ. Really boring fight.

Well Mayweather won by defense. It's too bad, I was hoping Oscar would be able to take it.

At least he went all 12 Rounds though.

i thought it was great because of the skill levels and resumes of both fighters. its not everyday that you get to see such a matchup

oh it was definitely a great "match-up" but floyd honestly just outpointed him. I thought the fight where he dismantled Gatti was more of what would happen to De la Hoya, who was much slower than Floyd. It just seemed that Floyd fought way too conservatively. If i paid 55 bucks to watch that, i'd be a little annoyed that after all Floyd's talk he wasn't the aggressor at all. He was good for promotion though and that 24/7 HBO show was awesome.

Yeah exactly, 24/7 did a great job in terms of building hype for the show.

Definitely he was conservative and he could've probably won the fight if he was more aggressive. De La Hoya definitely tried to take the fight to him, too bad it didn't land enough punches. Mayweather is a great defensive fighter, and Oscar just couldn't find enough openings.

That was the most boring fight in history. It was two guys afraid to take any leather. They were just standing there exchanging little pansy left jabs for 12 rounds so they could collect a big check. You can’t even call that crap a fight. It was just a raping of the sports world for money buy two clowns afraid to get hurt.

And yeah everyone thinks Mayweather is an ass by all that crap about him keeping huge amounts of money on him and stacked on his kitchen counters. But if you believe that you are part of the problem. That was just part of the staged pre-fight hype designed to attract fans/ people willing to pay $55 for pay-per-view. With all the really bad reality TV in the world today you would think people would be smart enough to see through that staged crap.

I would have a lot more respect for Mayweather if he really was an asshole but it was all just a bunch of scripted crap.

All I know is De la Hoya gets to go home and bang his hot wife and Mayweather has to hang out with palmela and handgela :wanker: :silly:

hahah...im sure he could find a chick after winning arguably the biggest fight in boxing history

are you kidding? mayweather has been a cocky asshole from day one...if anything, the hbo show portrayed him as somewhat of a nice guy
