9 hours of gun history and propaganda later ... I can now arm and disarm 5 types of long-guns ... it's an intense class -- Some other student broke an antique Winchester and the teacher ripped him a new one.

Gun test and written test tomorrow ...

Looking forward to some targets in the next 3 weeks when the license rolls in ... My Old man has a nice little collection ... Anyone else into this?

I don't hunt but I like shooting. I go every so often to ranges and rent guns, I haven't purchased one yet though.

Ruger 10/22 is what you need then. They are the Honda's of the .22 longrifles. Theres a billion different aftermarket pieces to make them better.
I've had mine for years now, it's great.
The .22 and my new 9mm is basically all I shoot now. I haven't touched either of the shotguns in some time.

AFter buying the 9mm, I really would like to get an AR15, before the law is possibly changed. I really like the new Magpul. I want a carbine too. Anyone have some money they want to give to me?

I understand that you are praising the Ruger 10/22, but how dare you call it a Honda. BLEH Anyway, yea, it's a great gun.

I hunt and shoot etc. Go 2nd ammendment! I shoot skeet every now and then and have gone pheasant hunting. Otherwise I mostly go hunting for ground squirrels in Northern California. Infact, I went on a day trip to do just that last weekend (not northern CA this time). I used to us a family 10/22 but I have owned Henry Golden Boy .22 magnum for about 3 years now. Lever actions are a ton of fun. :)

A guy I work with has a bolt action HMR .17 that he wants me to buy. It's a nice gun, but semi auto is just easier damnit. :lol:

I am against hunting actually, but love to shoot. Of course I can handle my military rifle, but never use it in my civil life.

Lately in my dad's office's storage, which is 15 meters long, we installed a small shooting range LOL, and bought a simple .22 rifle. I often go there to shoot some bullets after stressing days, and usually the morning after I can't hear ship :D

What are the gun laws here?

^^
Prohibited firearms, devices, and weapons are:

* full-automatic firearms
* sawed-off rifles or shotguns with barrel length less than 457mm (18 inches); this does not apply to firearms manufactured with short barrels
* sawed-off rifles or shotguns with overall length less than 660mm (26 inches); this does not apply to firearms manufactured with short stocks or short barrels
* handguns with a barrel less than 105mm (4.14 inches), except certain specifically listed competition handguns which are restricted
* handguns in caliber .25 or .32, except certain specifically listed competition handguns which are restricted
* silencers
* large capacity magazines for a semi-automatic center-fire firearm. What constitutes "large capacity" varies; as a general rule, the maximum capacity is 5 rounds for long guns, 10 rounds for handguns "commonly found in Canada", and 5 rounds for handguns "not commonly found in Canada." Magazines for rimfire cartridges, the 8-round clips used in the M1 Garand, and 10 round Lee Enfield rifle magazines are exempted by name from this prohibition.
* any of a long list of firearms specifically listed as prohibited. With few exceptions, if it has a remotely military appearance, it is prohibited.
* replicas of firearms
* any type of Taser or other firearm that discharges a dart or other object carrying an electrical current.
* tear gas, Mace or other gas, or any liquid spray, power or other substance that is capable of injuring, immobilizing or otherwise incapacitating any person
* any type of stun gun or other electrical charge device of length less than 480mm
* a large additional class of prohibited weapons, such as nunchakus, switchblades, brass knuckles, etc. which are not discussed here. Read the list here if you care.
http://panda.com/canadaguns/#overview

however this is my favorite one

According to the Canada National Firearms Association, "pepper spray is legal if it is intended for use on vicious animals, and is a prohibited weapon if intended for use on vicious humans. On the other hand, if you carry it to protect yourself from vicious animals, and are attacked by a vicious human, it is legal to use it on that vicious human. It doesn't have to make sense, it is government policy."

Yes well here we have a HUGE population of deer, which 1 in every 10 cars on the road will hit a deer in the vehicles life. Against hunting? We now have more moose in the area, which WILL kill you if you hit it.

I remembered the gun...

Intratec Tec-DC9 and Tec-12

Thats a drug-gun for sure ...

I just bought a Savage hing-action .22 /20 :D

I've got a little H&K USP .40 that I take to the range to get some frustration out. Otherwise it's a "home protection" device. I've never had to protect anything with it. And when the time comes I may be so freaked out I'll probably forget I have it :(

Well, I didn't make myself clear: I am against hunting just for fun. If usefull because a population needs to be reduced or because it is needed to feed yourself, why not. I just prefer to shoot objects :bah:

I hunt but I prefer to use a bow. Hunting with a gun is just boring, anyone strong enough to hold the gun up could do it b/c all you have to do is point and shoot. Bow hunting actually takes some skill :P

Pointing, pulling, and shooting?

(just being a smartass, you don't need to defend yourself)

In further news - I passed all the prerequisites and am now legal to own, buy and hunt with firearms.

As such I'm looking forward to the range this coming weekend as I've never shot anything but a bolt .22 :lol:

i don't own an actual gun yet, but i need to before washington state tries to outlaw firearms and CWPs.

I've shot a few guns, Glock 9, .44 revolvers of various make model and years.

I'm better with rifles though. Shot an M1 Grand that my roomate had in La. we both hit center from 116yds, open sight. Fired a couple black powder rifles, one of which was a .300 win mag. That one hurt :lol: I was actually more accurate with it than it's owner was :D

Not sure what kind of gun i want to get though.
