i really want to make a good camera rig.

I found this on google:

it looks good to me. i think its connected to the cars chassis with a strong magnet.

i want to build a rig like that and i need all the help and tips i can get.

btw, i made this:

can it be done with a strong magnet?

Brembo is correct, a magnet is just not strong enough to hold that much weight out that far.

It looks like the rig is something like this (keeping with the crappy paint images...)

To me it seems like that is what is going on, and it seems like it is perhaps bolted to the frame or something like that with some U bolts.

It seems to me that movies would use this type of setup, as it probobly requires some work to the car's underbody, like taking off the skidtrays and stuff. It seems like car magazines and such wouldnt use this type of set-up, or if they do they must have the car for some time.

If that rig you posted is mounted with a magnet, you wouldn't be able to remove that magnet yourself!

My touhgts exactly.....

thats also a problem. there is no way in hell a magnet that strong is coming off the chassis.

dingo, that link you posted seems good. However, how do you attatch it to the car?

I'm interested to a camera ring too. But....personally I think that only one
support auction fixed with a magnet can cause many vibrations :?:
I think that is best to have at least 3 points of anchorage...don't you think?

there is a suction pad that sticks to the glass of the car... any1 know where you can get them from.. they also have extension arms that hook upto parts of the car like a strong clamp.
