Well, I finally bit the bullet and ordered it. Its a Dell Inspiron 6400. Here are the specs:

-Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB)
-LCD Panel 15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife™(glossy)
-2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHZ, 2 DIMM
-256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory™
-120GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
-8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
-Dell Wireless 1390 802.11b/g Mini Card (54Mbps)
-85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
-Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal (2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate)
-Windows XP™

It should be here around the 30th because its a custom built computer. It should be pretty nice, especially with the ATI video card. Im gonna take the 250gig harddrive thats in my computer right now and make it an external harddrive. I went ahead and ordered XP with my computer as opposed to Vista, because from what I've heard it sucks. I figure I'll upgrade to Vista in a year or so, just get a copy from my mom or dads work  . Im also going to use my 17" LCD monitor and my Logitech wheel for my racing games so I can leave everything set up on my desk.

Here are some factory pics as mine wont be here for 2 weeks

Sounds like a very nice laptop.

I ordered one some days ago and hopefully I'll get it tomorrow :)

not bad, is it just for surfing the net or gaming also?

both. The 256mb ATI, 2gigs of Ram, and the 2.0 gHz Core 2 Duo should support most any game (at least the ones I play)

if you like listening to music you will find out how immenseley handy those 7 buttons on the front are ;) you can easily hook them up with winamp and it's very practical.

i have an Inspiron 6000, though it's already ~2 years old so it's rather crappy ;)

ill never go forward to vista!! hahaha (but seriously, I dont plan on to for about a year or more)

Thats what I'm gonna do. Upgrade when all the bugs are out and everything is Vista compatable.

Nice laptop, though it does look kinda bland. And yes, those media keys are the greatest invention ever.

As for vista, I haven't really run into many problems and with the new video drivers released yesterday, games work much closer to what they're like in XP.

Yea thats the only thing that kinda bothers me. It dosnt look as cool as something like an HP with the zen garden back. But it wasnt worth the extra houndred bucks to get it to look cool, and it wouldnt have been as good.

*UPDATE*
:good: Awesome work from Dell. :good:
The computer was shipped a week earlier then what the website said. Should be here Sunday or Monday. The only thing that sucks is that I wont be able to get it for another week or so because I'm up at school and it is going to my house :(

5/5 for Dell!

I just got my laptop in on Friday, a week and a half early :D , and its AWESOME! I'm still installing programs and such to get her up and running so I can replace my desktop with it. Im taking the 250gig HDD out of my desktop and am going to make it an external drive for my laptop.

As for the laptop, freakin awesome. Build quality is awesome. Screen looks beautiful. The design of the laptop my not be as good as say an HP, but it still looks really good. The performace is awesome from what I can tell, I have been installing stuff all weekend and deleating the stupid trail s**t and it dosnt even hiccup. I'll post some pics over the weekend as its exam week so I decided it would be a good idea to leave the new computer at home and remove it from temptation.

Nice to hear dude. I have exactly the same thoughts about my new laptop. Especially the WSXGA+ screen compared to my old 19inch monitor, it's like day and night.
