Here's the problem.

I have XP installed on C: and Vista was installed on partition D:

I've deleted the Vista partition, but everytime i boot up, the PC still asks me to choose an OS... is this because Vista still exists in the MBR? :?

Can anybody advise on how to fix this slight issue?

Cheers

PS - i deleted vista because it crashed out on me a little too often - i'm afraid my PC isn't good enough to handle it :oops:

vista still exists in you BOOT.INI ;) ..

unhide your system files and hidden files then goto C: drive

open your boot.ini in notepad

then copy and paste this into it ;)

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

Btw DONT DO THIS untill some other member verify's it :) ..

Yeah... this was what i though, but Vista has a whole different way of booting...

Theres a C:\Boot directory, and two boot files to delete...

Anybody got a run through of what to delete and how?
