knockhill tracknight + ride in a gallardo

had a great night tonight at a tracknight up at knockhill.had to make my own way up via public transport as my friend that was gonna give me a lift up got his dates mixed up and is off on holiday tonight.
some fantasic cars there too,usually load of skodas and seats,couple of GT3 RS's,GT3's,turbos,the usual caterhams and elises,evos scoobys,was surprised to see a Z06 too and of course a gorge lamborghini gallardo.one of the nicest cars there for me was the dreadnought MG ZT V8 530,the car just sound brutal but it kept having problems on the track so wasnt out alot.alot of people werent too happy at the lotus people trying to over take in the corners as they were told not to and the guy in the 993 turbo managed to set his brakes on fire :lol:.only went out in 2 cars as i spent most of the time trying to get decent settings on my new camera,first car was an audi s3 and that only lasted a lap before they red flagged it due to a lotus 340r spinning off,next it was my mates leon,just had newer bigger brakes fitted and it ddnt half make me nervious when your coming into the hairpin at over 100mph and he waits till around 10m after the brake sign :scared: .
highlight of the night was the gallardo though,was due to go out in the track in that when someone in a caterham went off and they red flagged it and as it was near the end of the night they called it off,so i was rather disappointed,so got chatting with the gallardo owner and he was talking about his plans for it (hes gonna supercharge it to 800-900bhp) and i asked him where he lived and sadly it was the oppsite way to the way i was going :( so i just tried my luck and asked him if i could maybe get a lift to dunfermline to catch the bus back to glasgow and he said sure.previous most pwerfulest car i had been in was a 400awhp escort cosworth but this serious was something else.as soon as he floored it you are pushed right into the seat and when he changes gear you lurch forward abit then are pushed right back in.its nothing sort of brutal and the sound was just amazing! he said he would take me round the track in it at the next trackday so looking forward to that one :D

Nice pics.

You were lucky to get a lift in a Gallardo. It must have been a big contrast by stepping out of a Gallardo into a bus....

I am not sure about the plans of supercharging a Gallardo. I believe it will not be suitable for trackdays (read corners) anymore. I doubt if the powertrain could manage such an amount of bhp. But we probably will see or read about the results in one of your posts.

the guy that has the gallardo owns an engineering and tuning company and also the heffer turbo gallardos are around 680-700awhp? which according to my shockingly bad maths :lol: i would guess thats around 850 at the fly so i think he should be able to do it :) he also owns a supercharged 350z(not the blue one in the pics but an orange one which looks 100% stock) which he does say handles better than the gallardo around knockhill but the gallardo is more of his daily driver.hopefully i can keep in touch with the owner and ive already said that i want another go after the superchargers been fitted :lol:
