hell yeah!!! This is the game that will finally get me to buy a PS3 I've been playing Vice City Stories on PSP lately.

Vice City was the best, followed by GTA III. San Andreas was miserable ... sucha stupid storyline, and even worse music playlists. I only played it for about 5 minutes and then put it in its box and never opened it again. That's why I love gift cards.

This new one though. God. It looks wonderful! :D

Why does everyone hate on San Andreas? I loved it.

In the trailer, you can see rollercoasters and such that weren't in GTA3. A lot of it will be familiar, but I bet the new Liberty City is going to much larger.

No, as a matter of fact it was Microsoft who first got the bid for this game. The same dude who had a tattoo for Halo 2 wore a tattoo that said "IV 10.16.07" on his arm at E3 last year.

So the answer is - no. It will be out on XBox 360 and PS3 at the same time and both will get exclusive downloadable content.

The game is NOT in liberty city, but actually in NYC, as you can see by the Statue of Liberty, chrysler building and the Pan Am building and times square...the pan am building has a great "Getalife" spoof of metlife showing us that rockstar still has their sense of humour..

it looks awesome, it might well still be called Liberty City (LC of GTA3 had some existing landmarks too, it originally had the twin towers for instance, they had to remove em after 9/11 tho).
I'm really not sure which GTA i liked best, never played SA, VC was great for its possibilities but i liked the gritty atmosphere of GTAIII better...

Finally they've created a new graphics engine, the earlier one really showed it's age in San Andreas. Surprising that there were no explosions, no bullets shot, no violence in this trailer, even though the game is mostly about gore which makes it 18+. Apparantelly NY is protesting against the game being set in a virtual replica of the city.

I cannot wait.

well this "flight to vice city" could possibly point to that (and i'd LOVE it personally) but what seems more likely to me, is a full-size new york urban area with just insanely much to do. In GTA III there was a reference "See you in Vice City" to the next game too (at the airport).

yeah, i know, but I still think that the fact that it's the actual Statue of liberty and all those other monuments, makes it NYC for real. Remember they have made a GTA in London once... It'd be one of the fresh new additions to the genre...

The GTA series constantly makes mention of other cities everywhere...fromt he actual character dialogues, to the radio stations, to little advertisements in the middle of the city, such as this one..

Remember Carser City? That's mentionned in all of them... Liberty City and Vice city are mentionned in SA, Liberty City is where the characters all ultimately end or come from....

Looks very promising! It seems they are more serous about the game this time, using real city a different character. It reminded me the mood of MAFIA, which in my opinion is the best PC game of this style.

I'm really waiting for this one now!

Not just that but you could change the way your character looked by how he eats, if he exercises, you could buy new clothes, get tattoos, etc.

They improved the targeting system in San Andreas, they implimented the turf-war system on the map for the gangs to have rivalries.


But of course there was the size of the map and the variety of vehicles you could drive. I spent probably 10 hours just flying around in planes with a parachute trying to find new things to BASE-jump off of!

Game Informer Magazine has been saying all along that 360 will definitely be getting it at exactly the same time, so don't sharpen your machette quite yet :)

and now GTA IV will be the perfect reason to get a new computer :D
