This thing sounds even more 'diesel-like' than the audi:

I thought all you eurotypes were into those high revving small displacement super-engines...

These diesel clunkers rev LOWER than privateer pushrod cars from the 1950's and 1960's.

Is this the "future" you guys want for motorsport? Low revving, terrible sounding ugly as shite diesel crap?

Don't worry - when the first 2500rpm Formula 1 diesel rolls out onto the grid we might see the look of realization on all y'alls faces.... suddenly NASCAR, I mean EUSCAR will be the "high tech" "high revving" motorsport :P

That makes a whole lot of sense. A multi million dollar test bed with no competition coasting to a win is proof that European Diesel engines are better than American petrol engines.

Yes, American are not able to build a petrol car that can beat European Diesel Cars.

Completely agree.

Ok, ithey are fast, ok they may win...but for God's sake give a me petrol cars

It's like the pleasure to eat. This pleasure it's not only based on the flavour...it's a combination of flavour, aroma, good presentation...
Racing for me it's the same, it's not only the performance of the cars which boilts my blood, it's also their sound.

Still doesn't make it true.

In GT1, the Corvettes won.

Using your logic, american engines >>>>> European engines

In GT2, Panoz won
American engines >>>>> European engines

You are ignoring that vast differences in classes at LeMans. There was only one american engine that competed in LMP1 at LeMans last year. It was in the hands of a British team (Lister) that modified the engine. The only thing makin it American was that it was a Chevrolet block. But let me guess, it's still the fact that it's an American block that caused it to fail and not what a British race team had done to it?

I'm guessing this is more of the "everything American sucks" bullshit.

Like I said, your logic is flawed. It's almost sad that you don't realize that the support for your arguement is nonsense.

I wonder who would have a better chance at beating Audi. A british team that lost it's funding, or a nonexistant full, on factory effort from an American company.

Well, Chevrolet only beat a small British company that was in bankrupt few years ago, so Corvette victories aren't that relevant.

On the other side Audi did something that no one had done before and that many people thought it was impossible, winning Le Mans with a Diesel car!

I don't know why RC45 keeps attacking Europeans all the time.

So Chevrolet beating a once bankrupt company makes it's win worthless, but Audi steamrolling a privateer effort that lost it's funding doesn't? You aren't making sense again.

You do realize that the rules are highly in favor of diesels right?

RC45 isn't attacking Europeans, he's attacking people like you. People that like to use opinion as fact.

Well - the Audi didn't sound at all...

I kinda like this sound better than the Audi V10... here you hear something, you hear the engine revving... while the german was more like a vacuum cleaner! :D

LOL yep, I couldn't even hear the Audi on TV, I thought the engine had stopped every time it came past

At least this sounds!

that 908 sounded good, it seemed like there was abit of turbo lag in some bits... yeah those audis were abit too quiet...i remember reading on EVO magazine that we'd need to hook the exhausts to loud speakers and get the crowd to be quiet when they pass by lol....I wish someone would get a Ford GT in Le mans (removing the supercharger and making it a high revving machine), but until then I hope the C6r wins for a third time this year 8)
