guess i'll have to find some text recognition stuff and then have it translated online, but even if that fails it's good for pictures and numbers :D

Over a whole lap of the Nurburgring, I expected the Zonda to get blown away. Does anyone know who did the lapping? I think Walter Rohl said something about breaking the 7:30 barrier in the CGT.

I don't know german too well, but I understood the result. Porsche Carrera - 68/70, Pagani Zonda - 61/70. The german advantage over the italian didn't surprise me :)

Well, by the numbers alone, and with my limited German language skills, it looks like the CGT is an immensely fast car, espcially around a track. BUT, it looks that it may not be as fast as an Enzo, which is understandable and expected. I would love to see this in a comparison with the Enzo, in a very similar test as this one, which was very well carried out. Even mor eintersting would be to see the CGT compared to an F50...

That is a wet lap though, that time is actually pretty amazing. If what St-Anger says is correct in the same test the Enzo would have been about 8 min.

In the dry the CGT probably can pull around a 7:30 and the Enzo would likely be pretty close. Anywhere else though, in the dry it is likely the Enzo has a little advantage.

Why would the Enzo be around 8 min? If it was a wet lap, wouldn't its electronics give it a huge advantage?

apparently at the ring in semi-wet conditions the Carrera GT is about 20 seconds quicker than the Enzo. So I gave the Enzo the benefit of the doubt and added 20 seconds to the CGT.

Check out the Porsche News thread in car chat to find out more about the CGT and Enzo. Admittedly the info is coming from Porsche and is likely biased a little just by the fact the cars they drive fastest they create, but still the CGT appears to be quicker at Nurbugring at least.

hum....i kind of agree with u taht CGT might be faster then Enzo around the ring, but maybe not... since i never saw any number from Enzo going around the ring.. with official ferrari driver... anyone have any info on this?

if CGT is faster, i think only maybe alittle, and not 20 sec
the ring,, is really a track that will need a experience driver around teh circuit

The Enzo had not been officially clocked on the Nurbürgring yet (to my knowledge) and we can't know which one is faster. Some ppl say that if the CGT may be faster than the Enzo on the Nurbürgring thank to a better global engineering, it's not the case in every circuit and it could be reversed on the "pure" race tracks like Hockenheim or Spa ... if the Enzo don't brake down !!
For the 20 s of difference , it's only (supposed) on a wet track and not on the dry. If i'm not wrong, it's Walter Rohrl that made this estimation after driving both cars (Ferrari lent an Enzo to Porsche and Porsche lent a CGT to Ferrari in return).
