Since all of you think that Aston Martin and Maserati's are not that much of choices, I want to hear what you think is the coolest automobile brand on Earth...and why. It's not the most successful brand in the world or not even the best, but the coolest. I still think Maserati's pretty cool, with the original (and current) Quattroporte and 250F. And I still think Ferrari's too whored out. :P

Aston Martins are the coolest for me!
Ferrari close behind but I know lots of girls that don't give a damn about Ferrari but they are in love with AMs, they are just something that makes them go crazy.. Maybe its a Bond thing? 8)

Ferrari's will always be the coolest for me, even though I'm a Porsche owner and lover  . However, saying you own a Ferrari is the ultimate sign of coolness. 8)
Porsche would be right after Ferrari on the coolness scale IMO.
Ferrari is the most over rated brand - the coolest brand was Lamborghini before the Chrysler buyout..
Today? Coolest brand is Noble.

Mercedes-Benz :(
But seriously, Bugatti Veyron.
Just imagine to wake up in the morning, sunny, wet tarmac, through a forest with long sweeping bends. Well I can't imagine actually, but just trying gives me a great feeling :D

All the major brands are guilty of whoring out their image to some extent, though Ferrari is pretty guilty LOL
This is a tough question to answer because I like a lot of different brands but sometimes only certain cars that brand makes and even then I don't know if I would consider them cool or not. I think its hard to see any major brand as being cool these days cause at one point or another they have had to sell out a little in order to become a major brand.
I'm gonna say RUF cause they are like Porsches on steroids. :D

Well AM's are certainly beautiful, and have something magical. But Lamborghini's are all that, and on top of that they've got the sheer power, and IMO the ultimate sportscar looks!

Prove: All you say if you drive a ferrari is that your a self indulgent ass who likes to show other people how rich you are because you know everyone knows a ferrari and will associate it with great wealth...If you buy a Pagani Zonda on the other hand, your still self indulgent but not a showoff, 99% of the population wouldn't know what you are driving when you go past them but for the few who do know will gaze in awe and respect you for being a true car enthusiast!!!

Coolest brands to me: Ferrari, McLaren, Duesenberg, Bugatti (old cars only), Alfa Romeo (ditto), Bentley (ditto), RR (From the Phantom I period till the Phantom IV period).
Ferrari - I REALLY, REALLY love the old cars. The design, sounds, passion is really evident. SOULFUL cars. The modern cars are more effective/efficient but a bit soulless. I don't think I would ever want to buy a 430 or 599. The only modern car I really like is CS. Otherwise, I think the best we saw from Ferrari was in the 1950s-90s.
Other brands: Porsche? - like Ferrari, I prefer the older cars: RS, 70s Turbo, 80s Carrera. The GT3 is probably the only recent car that I like. The other 996s, 997s put me to sleep. In truth I admire Porsche but don't love Porsche.
Lamborghini: Really overrated IMO. Personally I dont like a sports car that is so heavy. Looks and sound cool but I don't think I will want to own one. Miura looks cool. But it is not my cup of tea. I would rather have a Ferrari 275.
BMW, Merc, Audi - boring stuff. Great everyday use cars but not stuff of passion.
Corvette: Admirer of performance of the Z06. But I am not a Corvette guy. :bah:
Pagani: Really awesome car to begin with. I like the underdog attitude. But I think the performance gap to say a 430, Gallardo is not that much. The 430 would a more practical car to drive.

Hmmm. There have been uncool Ferraris...and Porsches. Ferrari's 400i, 208 GT4, Mondial... Porsche's 924 and the 914... not to mention the Cayenne and the Panamera. But I don't think there has been an uncool Aston Martin ever.

Oh really - Lagonda strike a bell? Crappy DB7?

Hmmmm. Lagonda was indeed weird. But at least DB7 had looks to make up for the initial crappiness.

Says the man with the Ferrari F1 avatar
^ Yep that's why my choice would be Lamborghini.
They are still outrages, unique, and impractical.
There are few close contenders like:
Aston Martin - they are in a different group though, in a more luxurious and elegant one, not hyper-exotic enough.
Pagani - currently the one and only car they have is great, inside and out, but the brand it seems is lacking some innovation as the Zonda model has been in need of replacement for a while.
Bugatti Veyron - I could understand why so many people would like it, and that‘s fine. I personally didn’t have liking for it since the beginning and I couldn’t figure it out why for a while. I mean it is low, sleek and fast (very fast) but honestly it's one supercar that doesn't inspire me just looking at it. It's too soft and friendly looking, it looks like a big bubble, (not trying to offend any body just stating my opinion) If I didn’t know it caries 1000hp the intimidation factor would probably not be there, witch I think is a major flaw.
This is where Lamborghini comes in. In my opinion the brand once again revolutionized the supercar world, because the designs of the new models are very innovative, aggressive, and Italian. To me Murcielago roadster epitomizes what a supercar should be. Extreme and imposing from every angle!

AUDI.
they run Bugatti, Lamborghini, and Bentley.
they have stolen the design team of Alfa Romeo, which had the most beautiful designing of ANY car company in the world.
and they build all types of cars for all types of people.....and most of all, cars that inspire every other company to keep up. When you see an Audi...you KNOW it's an Audi. Those 4 rings are far more distinctive than nearly any other logo in the automotive world....except maybe MB's 3 star circle.
yeah...i'm dead serious.
too bad Audi is going to get the takeover bid from the successful ones, Porsche AG in the not so distant future ;)
a small nich marque controlling the huge conglomorates... interesting indeed ;)

Porsche won't take over all of VAG though.....and even if they do take over VAG, Audi will still remain separate in function than VW or Porsche.
Porsche was ALREADY very involved with VW and Audi for the last 20 years or more...it was just a bit more secretive and behind the scenes.
inside word is the bid is likely to happen this summer

Lamborghini as a brand was extremely cool for along time...but since the Audi takeover they have lost some of that. Ferrari is way overexposed as people have mentioned. AM is very, very cool...but for me not the coolest. Pagani is really cool as well, but not quite the coolest. Porsche, sure they have some truly cool cars but let's not forget Cayenne and Cabrios with automatics.
TVR is pretty damn badass...even though some Russian guy owns them (unless they have been sold again?), they make some mean cars. 8)

LOL, not surprising you would pick Audi. Audi is many things, but cool? Ahahahaha, no way in my opinion. They certainly have some nice designs (RS4, R8 ), but that alone doesn't make them cool, and definitely not coolest. For one thing, they are the reason Lamborghini has lost most of their coolness. But each to his own I guess...

A lot of people say that Audi made Lamborghini loose its "coolness",
but what exactly did they loose :?:
If anything I believe Audi put Lamborghini back on top of the most exotic brands. Current Lamborghinis are in many ways better in quality, faster, and still have an amazing wow factor to look at.
I mean just look at the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 roaster and tell me how it's nothing less than more extreme, futuristic, aggressive and in your face hyper car then anything else out there!
With 640hp only the really skillful ones could take it to the limit, making it still hardcore and insane to take to the limit, the removable roof is almost completely useless, a pure Italian afterthought (and makes the car even more extreme and exotic imo) and then the design that speaks for itself!
Ferrari ends up being my choice, because they are so cool in every way...HUUUUUGE soft spot for the 250 Series....all od the,, especially the PF Coupe...
