Muscle Cars in the Family?

I was just thinking of my mom and dads cars from the 70s, and I remembered something... My moms first car was a 73 Challenger, I think with a 318 in it. Anyone else have parents or family that owned/owns muscle cars?

O yeah, my dad had a 72' Ford LTD with a 400ci V8 that supposedly hauled ass, hmm... my grandpa had a 318 duster till he blew the motor, and my grandpa stored a 70 Dodge Charger on his farm while the owner was off fighting some war. The guy returned from the war, but killed himself and the car in an accident later on. Thats all I can think of right now.

my dad had a 70s chevelle SS that he wraped into a pole...:( he also owned a challenger and a baracuda

my dad had alot of nice muscle cars he said if he knew he was going to go into the car buisness he never would have sold them

I can't remember them all of hand but i know he had a 70 charger r/t and a plymouth superbird.My uncle wrecked the superbird. I remember playing around it when i was a kid.He took the whole side out as I recall.He's had quite a few accidents over the years.

Yeah, my grandpa wrecked my moms challenger. Total write off... he also wrecked a huge cougar, and about 10 other cars. lol

My Dad when he was younger had a brand new 68 Camaro SS, which he incidently totaled street racing. My mom had a 69 Plymouth RoadRunner w/ a 426 Hemi in it complete with the 'beep beep' roadrunner horn. :)

I just found out last week that various parts of my dads old SS were given away by my grandmother last week. My dad pasted away a few years back and it would have been nice to have the original front end of his camaro for use in a future LS6 69 camaro buildup I've been contemplating :(

My dad got three from my grandpa when he passed away 5 years ago. The Mustang is a virgin, it's never been touched the only parts that have been replaced were the tires and the normal parts like various filters and what not. The Comet has a Ford 402 with a powerglide tranny, edlebrock heads, and intake manifold, total custom made exhaust (straight pipes). the camaro is changed almost 70% the engine was replaced with a Chevy Racing 502 big block with a high rise supercharger, nitrous kit, racing heads, racing camshaft, fully bullet proofed bottom end, long-tube headers to exhaust out the side. the interior was fully gutted and a full roll cage was frame welded in a racing seat installed with five point harness, original dash still installed with new gauges on the dash. the passenger side door was welded shut. the transmission is a Powerglide connected up to a 9" Ford rear end with Mickey Thompson Slicks on the original wheels. My dad also owned a 71 Camaro SS convertible, a 66 Mustang Convertible, 71 Mach 1 Mustang, 69 Chevelle SS. My mom had a 70 Chevelle SS and a 62 Thunderbird.

my dad has a 69 Cutlass S convertible, red. he had the engine bebuilt and the interior restored last fall. cool car. its currently sitting in our garage under a cover for the winter. snow sucks :cry:

I had a mint (60,000 original miles) 3 speed 1972 Ford LTD with the 400ci V8 as a first car when I moved to the US in 1995 - bought it for $300.

Trust me, the only thing it could haul was a large load in the trunk... ;) - Now THAT car would help prove the point that American cars were once over weight hunks of pig-iron that couldn't get out of their own way, let alone go fast... LOL

my parents were never really into cars. all my automotive influence came from my older brother. hes had tons of cars in his lifetime and they were all fixed up.

his muscle cars (ie American cars):
93 Mustang 5.0 with NOS and a Paxton supercharger. good for mid 11 sec passes
70 chevelle with a 454 bored 100 over and 300hp worth of NOS. good for 9 sec passes smoking 10 in slicks the whole way down the track

sadly, those two cars are gone. now he has a 49 chevy truck with a 350. a 53 Pontiac (work in progress) and a 34 Ford roadster thats gonna house the engine from the aforementioned chevelle.

oh, and i have my Nova of course :D

My Mothers first car was a 68 Dodge Charger with a 440 six pack.....ahhh.....when she moved to where she lives now, she inherited a 70 roadrunner with a 383 and an air-grabber scoop on the hood...damn i wish i coulda been around for those days....
i think my dad's car was a ford LTD wagon...haha.... :P :P

My dad had a 69 Camaro a long time ago. Sold it soon after my sister was born. Other than that, nothing special.

My dad had a red convertible belvedere that could do wheel standsnot sure what motor he had. he also had a green 69 camaro, he said the car would wind up like a funnycar, and could lay 50ft of rubber lol. Muscle cars are great. I almost forgot my uncle used to have a mint 57 lincolin continental, and also had a really nice superbee at one time too.

My father has owned GM station wagons ever since I was born. He was a TV repairman so that was his work vehicle. He was a car nut though, always tinkering with cars, so that's where I get my 'car gene' from. I guess the closest 'muscle car' that my family owned was a '68 Caprice with a 396 hp 396 cid engine w/ 4 barrel carb. I'm the only the one in the family that currently owns a hi-po vehicle.

my fiance's dad has a 69 grand prix 428 that he is selling to buy a Z06 so its no great loss. :lol: :lol:

My mother's friend's dad gots an Shelby GT350 from '66, he's going to sell it, i tought he was selling it for around €50.000, but i'm not so sure about that.
