So, the time of the year came again and I was heading for the second time in a row to Monza racetrack to see the start of the Coppa Milano-Sanremo, revival of the rally born in 1906.
Since I was there last year I elected it as my absolute favourite event: no public at all, not even too many journos, only tons of vintage cars, their owners and team, the staff and that's all.
It's really VERY rare to be able to stand in Monza's pitlane and literaly being ALONE. I can barely believe it when I look at my pics.
Not to talk about the fact you can just step down the pitwall on the main straight to take your panning shots, which is something you rarely can do on an F1 track!
The lineup was more impressive last year probably, and this year the promised 33 Tipo Stradale didn't come, but well, there was the 450S who wasn't there in 2006, and plenty more to be enjoyed, let's get the ball rolling as this is the biggest update ever on SCS!
That makes 600+ pics I uploaded this week with Geneva and the Coppa!!

I absolutely love to enter the parking behing the paddocks in the early morning (7:30 am) and already find a couple of cars there in some amazing light. Magic moments

When I saw a 300SL Gullwing on the entry list I thought it was the italian one I saw last year but no, it was a swiss one, totally to die for and the driver was really gunning it down the straighline. Never saw a 300SL passing by that fast and it was the first time I really heard it's engine sing!!

My fav of the day, this stunning yellow (and Swiss) Daytona Gr 4, sadly with street exhaust :( still damn loud

Here is the star of the show, the ultra rare Disco Volante Spider who took part in the whole rally driven by a couple of female journalists

And the stunning 450S, who sadly broke down on its first lap :( luckily I got in on the move while it was going down the pitlane!

I hope you will enjoy the massive coverage, it was quite an effort to shoot that much (almost 700 pics) and edit the best to be put on the website!
For sure I already wrote it down for 2008!
