Bentley considers the use of diesel and hybrid engines in the near future. According to the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Bentley CEO Franz Josef Paefgen revealed at the Geneva Motor Show that the automaker may begin installing diesel and even hybrid engines in its models as early as next year. This would mean Audi's V12 TDI could become avaible in Bentley's line-up next year.

Paefgen also mentioned Bentley will enlarge its dealer network and is planning to sell between 9.000 and 10.000 cars a year. In 2006 they sold 9.300 cars. 40% of the cars are sold on the US market. Eventhough the low currency value of the US dollar, Paefgen wants to boost US sales. According to the CEO, Bentley will become free of debts within the next 5 years.

For sure this diesel engine will be a great one.... but, why a Bentley owner would have to choose it in place of the petrol W12?
For save some thousand of euros/year?
For the more torque? I don't Think the W12 is devoid of torque....
