Alright guys, this is a bit of a feeler topic to gauge intrest in a competion.

What the idea is, is that we take a certain game, with a certain car (stock for games you can modify cars), and a certain track and do time trails, making it a competition for the fastest lap. So basically take a game like Forza, and use say Laguna Seca, and a Porsche GT3, and see who can get the fastest flying lap. Post lap times in the topic, and see who can get the fastest lap with a STOCK car.

Obvoiusly it will be easy to cheat, so maybe you guys can suggest some ways of policing the cheating. Perhaps Pics or STFU or something like that, but it might be hard for some people to provide pics/screen shots. Although it does seem like it would be easy to call someone on BS

Basically this just seems like it could be alot of fun, and an excuse to break out the racing games again and do some time trails.

Also looking for ideas for a game list, games that most people have. I figure we can do like 2 competitons per week with 2 different games so that most everyone gets a shot to participate.
Game List:
-GT4
-Forza
-(suggestions?) :bah:

Basically the prize is the same as the PS competion, and round of applause  and a big hug http://www.misterminacious.com/pics/grouphug.gif

What I'm looking for in a reply is what racing game(s) you have that you own/are able to play alot, and if you are interested (its not like it takes alo of time like the PS competition, just a few hot laps, plus, who dosnt like racing? )

The Race-King version is the latest and arguably best looking one:

But iff too many people have slow frame rate issues then try DutchDevils "the previous best looking version" as second option:

Preferably the DutchDevil version, still need time getting used to the Raceking version
I usually play the 24H track, but if you guys prefer the VLN or Tourist track, that's fine too.

Well the low frame-rate is not really the issue (when I turn shadows to medium), but it's more the different feeling I get i.e. at some parts the track is a lot tighter (like a man's anus) and the kerbs are a bit higher.

Definately need more practice, that'll solve the problem for me :D

Sucks I cant play PS2 or anything since its all packed up and ready to be moved into the house within a week. :(

But I got a better idea why dont you guys with GTR2 just create an online game and race against each other? Adds to the experience.

Aight, RaceKing version it will be! 8)

What about rules? I normally play without any form of help, not even clutch-help. I've got a G25 and playing the game with three pedals and sequential stick-shift mode (just like the real deal) adds to the experience. I know RC45 has a G25 too, but I don't know about the rest?

Online race would be great but a bit difficult time-wise, since I live in the NL (GMT+01:00). As a matter of fact, I'm going to bed now, it's past 3am here... :?

I got Thrustmaster Force Feedback steering wheel so i got only traction control and abs and clutch on thats all the rest is manual.

Just can't get used to the Raceking version... Driving over those high kerbs seriously upsets the balance of the car, which is a huge problem for me since I'm kind of a kerb-man myself

I'll just stick to the DutchDevil version if you guys don't mind...

i dont think it matters aslong as the track is the same length but i think y ou might encure a penalty time of 5 seconds ?? as its harder for us with the nasty curves ??

i dont know just an idea.

I have no idea how the two tracks compare length-wise. Penalty time sounds fair, but it wouldn't matter a lot anyway cause I think I kinda suck; need a lot more practise...

You really should play without traction control and ABS.
If you play it in real simulation-mode, it'll be a lot harder :P

I know but i gotta get used to the wheel first. Its got a really powerful force feel to it .. its hard :(

I like the idea but I lack console based racing games. I'd like to see such contests, go for it.

Alright, sounds like we have some interest which is good, but we still need a list of what games everyone has that is fun for doing hot laps. Im probobly gonna start a Forza one here later on, just to gague interest in that.
