Nice find..... Ive always found BMW clutches tricky, but I'm quite surprised to see how far ahead the auto pulls! Thats crazy :shock:

automatic are easy to drive, hit the floor and let car do the dirty work.
Even my mother is fast in an automatic car :lol:

Really? I always liked the feel and grab of BMW clutches. I thought Audi clutches are a bit too light, well at least from my experience in a B6 A4 1.8T.

Yeah, autos definitely have come a long ways. I read in a few articles that this is one of the best auto trannies around.

I haven't had the chance to drive one yet. :(

Those 335i are pretty fast compared with the old 330i :shock:



old? its based on the E90 chassi, the latest 330i with 258hp

Yeah... I think it's because I drive a Volkswagen, and their clutch grabs quite late, while the beemer clutch disengages early. I must admit though, havent had much experience in a manual BMW, so it's probably a lack of practice more than anything else.

Really in a league of their own these BMW clutches, new one is pretty fast compared to the old one :shock: :D

BMW were first in the world with a 6-speed automatic and it was on the 7er.

A few years later MB and Lexus were first with 7/8 speed automatics.

I didn't mean "No they weren't first". I meant "No not everyone has 6-speed autos now".
