Feb 19: Porsche 996 Carrera 4 indepth

Not the best timing I guess LOL.. I posted the review (http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=41691) quite some time ago now but the pics only come today :bah:

I had the cars for some days, but sadly having to work, only had a few minutes every evening before nightfall and bedtime :bah:
Bizarre. I could take the car basically any WE to complete the shoot but never cared to do it LOL...

BTW, to gain some cm and be able to have the full cabin as well as making it easier to operate, the mount was installed outside the rear window, not into the cabin ;) then you have the one taken from the soon roof.

As for the comparison between 964 and 996, well, it's difficult to put the finger on it. They feel very similar and you couldn't doubt a split of a second they are deeply related. If offered a change I'd keep the 964. It's as comfortable but doesn't have all the useless stuff like big GPS screen (GPS you can't update, very silly move from Porsche back then). Also, Tiptronic really ruins the experience completely. not to talk about the sound which is nowhere as good as the air cooled 964 is.

But you know I am biased and rarely prefer a modern car to it's older sibling :bah:

In the first pic the 996 is looking like an SUV - ready to haul a full tank of fuel. :mrgreen:

Was the Lake in Geneva or your new place?

That's the lake of Lugano, I think it was my first indepth here in Ticino actually.

I am biased, but the lake here is so much cooler than Geneva's ;) it's narrow, it's twisty. The roads alongside it are often interesting :)

the 2nd brick wall is cool.

about the car, I prefer the design of the C4S much more (not because it's an S, just design of the front for instance), this one looks too brave for a 4WD.
