I'm not yet prepared to shift to Windows Vista but I really like the visual treatment used in Vista. I saw this site and they offer a 'bricopack' for Windows XP. Has anyone ever tried this? Does it damage any system files?

I've installled the vista inspirat package on my pc, and I've had no problems... As far as I can tell it hasn't altered any of my system files. I also tried uninstalling the package and my previous xp settings resumed with no hassles.

Quite a cool little mod, especially if you're getting bored with the standard XP Skin.

hahaah...those desktop styles are 100% stolen from Mac OSX.

why was this response so predictable? The thread starter decided to discuss WIndows XP/Vista with like minded individuals... not try start a Windows vs Gay Mac User bashing session...

As a so called "mature adult member and contributor to JW" couldn't you come up with a better contribution than this vindictive inciteful comment you did?

It is time this above type shit gets cleaned up from JW and actual quality control be put back in place.

Damn this place is degrading into a schoolyard... its gettig so every thread is being turned into a VS thread....

He was just stating the obvious... as many have mentioned before, the Aero Glass theme in Vista is a direct hit to OSX's GUI.

I'm still considering whether or not I want to install Vista Ultimate or just XP Pro on the new PC I plan on building.. I'll have to see if I can get it cheap from my University or from work..

M$ has definitely made it better too. I can't stand navigating in OSX. The new address bar alone in Vista is almost worth upgrading ;)

exactly. it's a good design, which IS being used in this theme....

Bullshit - similar themes have been around ever since 3 dimensional guis landed 15 years ago .. not everything is apples.

RC45: you are an absolutely pathetic drama queen. LOL
Shutup prick - you are seriously dislikable - you and the trash you keep promoting on JW and am petitioning to have you banned. The site can do withtou a trouble maker ike yourself - continually going out of your way to make bad vibes between members. Why the hell can you not let issues lie?

BTW how do you reconcile your drugged up "music career" with your squeaky clean "medical career" - which one did you use to placate your family and your wife?

^ Damn.

Anyways I used this Brico pack about 10 months ago....or when it first came out. It is pretty good and I dont think I had any problems with it such as virus or any of that mess. Uninstall was sorta a bad but nothing too terible. Also the only real problem I had was I kept getting filmstrip view for about all my folders and I wanted either detail, thumbnail or anything else it goes but if I exit the folder or restart windows it goes back to the filmstrip view. Maybe they got this fixed? Hope ya like the new look. :)

Yeah. A penguin is a lot more likeable than a...window? with colorful panels? and it's flying? wtf? what kind of logo is that? What is this? Now the window frame's gone? You have just the window panels floating in the air? What, they're still flying?

haha. you are by far the most boring person on this forum. nothing to say, anything you do say...is sort of like listening to dementia-meets-schizo nonsense. LOL.

get well soon.

boring? is that all you have?

you are a spineless backboneless liar.

you broke GM's embargo and then didnt have the balls to face up to it.

not only that - you didnt even have the common decency to thank me when I took the heat for it - financially and profesisonaly.

you are worse than boring - pathetic comes to mind.

Did I miss something? This is the second or third time I have seen this mentioned. What are you on about? If this is a private matter between the two of you then forget I said anything but as I have seen this a few times, my curiosity has gotten the better of me.

wtf?

where is it "rc45 vs everyone"?

are you everso? or is everso everyone?

this punk tried to trash this thread, and when asked to move on decided to attack another member.. myself.

everysince he fucked me over regarding the GM C6Z06 picture embargo for some reason he has chosen to be a cunt towards me - and it is very angering.

Not only did he screw me over and leave me to take the heat from General Motors in a HUGE way, leaving me to negotiatie and extricate myself from possible litigation with the biggest and arguably most powerful company in the world - he never ever had the decency to either appologise for the shit he caused or thank me for taking the heat from him.

that makes him 'not a decent person" in my book.

to then go out of his way to be an arsehole to me every chance he gets on JW is further insult added to injury.

But if his type of behaviour is what gets your rocks off then more power to you.

My only mistake EVER was to to refuse to roll over on his arse and turn hi over GM... something I figured would be"the right thing to do" - in retrospect I should have just given them his name and let them drill him into the ground - but thats not how I conduct my life.

Oh - and the other reason I didnt turn him over?

To prevent JW from being dragged into the whole ordeal... I stupidly thought you selfish fuckers would appreciate the gesture.. but sadly that actoin also fell on deaf ears - to date I think Jabba was one of the few people who apprecaited me not dragging th entire community down over eversos cowardice.

Bah - who cares - you people obviosuly don't.

See above - it used to be "private" - when I figured I was doign the "right thing" by not ratting him out... but I really don't care any more...

essentially some 'GM insider' gave everso confidential images of the C6 Z06 and he leaked them to the public via me and JW... as he was too chicken to post the images himself... and fooled me into believing he would be man enough to take the heat if the aciton ever came back to roost.. and it did - big time - GM took me head on and tried to put the squeeze on me - and all he did was shrink into the shadows... then start to get a HUGE attitude for no reason.

Really poor character if you ask me.

We can, but certain people (2 or 3 and their jolly entourage) have made it their personal mission to stalk myself and few others for no reason.

Thats why we can't get along.

And quite frankly I dont give a flying hoot if 100% have heard the story - because 1) it is true 2) I am the one who had to buy their way out of the problems 3) I am waiting for this prick to come clean and 4) I am tired of this chap flaunting his "squeaky clean holier than though attitude when the reality is very different.

But as with everything in "real life" - the truth matters nought - it's who ever has the appearance of influence..

And in these days brembo, everso and a couple others are the "squeaky clean heros who can do no wrong" and a couple others of us are the "cancer to be eradicated".

Yeah - sorry for the pollution, and with Nova being the last 1% I guess the case is abotu wore out anyway. :(

My throat is hoarse :(

I fear the "other side" has won.

On the one hand I am really sorry I never turned him over, but on the other hand I am glad JW didn't have to go through what would have been the inevitable aftermath.

I have a little more respect for the community than that - my major flaw really, is "thinking of the other guy" too much. :(

The one lawyer even asked me "Are you sure this other bloke will appreciate not coming out?" And me saying "Yeah - he's a standup guy - he'll thank me later" :P

hehe - boy was I a bad judge of character ;)

I do recall the problem with the Vette spy pics and the GM goons but I guess I never learned where it originated from.

Back on topic, assuming this thread is salvalgable LOL

My brother recently got a new comp with Vista on it and after I messed with it for some time, I must say I do like the interface. I dont think I am ready to make the switch from XP yet but I was going to look for a Vista style skin. I found a way through some net searching on how to skin XP without the use of a program but that was some time ago and I have since forgotten. Ill look into it as I am sure I have the info bookmarked somewhere.

Ill post info if I find a good Vista skin.

Naw company dont have shit to do with anything. It is probably becuase your computer is not powerful enough. What are the specs of the machine you are trying to install on and also is the copy of Vista legit? Because I would trust that pirate bullshit at this stage.

I don't see why you can't, unless your computer is over 5 years old.

I was expecting that for some reason.

I've tried quite a few of these vista themes on xp for a while now, but I got bored and installed vista onto my laptop and I must say, these themes don't feel anywhere near as nice as the actual os.

If anyone is still interested in having a "Vista" version of XP, I found this (http://www.jcxp.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=7006)

Here is a screen shot of what my computer looks like with it installed :D

I suggest creating a system restore point in case anything goes wrong but I didn't have any problems. Just DL the exe, run it and your done.[/url]
