They are good guys. I got busted doing 95 in a 65 (one of those double fine zones) and the fella gave me a 84 (lower bracket) in a standard 65. After I pulled away I was laughing hard cause I was slowing down from a top speed of somewhere around 145mph when he pulled me over.

Nice, you got away with one....145 would be a bit crazy for me to risk.

What do you mean with double fine zones?
Do you get a fine that is twice as expensive as normal?

Yea, on the Atlantic City Expressway they have zones where fines are doubt. And I was driving my modded Lincoln LS V-8. I didn't get away with too much, actually. Cause they send the ticket back to my home state, so I still might be in trouble. And a note to ya'll... Radar Detectors suck.

I have an Escort Solo S2, the one of the most expensive detectors on the market. He just activated it when he saw the car, which gave 1 second warning before I was toast.

I hate to say it but there's your problem. The battery detectors give up alot to save energy. All the cops in my area of jersey still use X band radar.Should be one of the easiest to get a early warning with even with my junk uniden.I'll probably get a escort 8500 next. Here's V1's take on cordless detectors.Granted they are a competitor but they don't even make a cordless one.

I dont bother with radar detectors since all the roads I drive I have learned were all the cops can and do wait. And if I don't know the road I watch out for possible hot spots and don't go too fast.
Radar detectors only work when radar is active, most police now wait for you to come in their line of sight then radar which makes the radar detector useless.

Yea, which is what I am sure happened to me. Cause I know the things worked, it gave me several correct warnings... but not when it counted. Well, not always when it counted.

...the idea is to use the detector, common sense and observation...
