I believe it was said to be too slow because the safety car has to lug several hundred LB's (I think they said 150kilos?) of material around as well as two people. The weight quickly adds up to the 360hp of the SLK.

The 63 engine has more torque and power, more space for stuff AND it's also a newer car, so they go around rotating vehicles every now and then.

Well - the SLK55 was replaced because, according to the drivers, it was too slow to be a F1 safety car. That's why they're using a tweaked CLK63 instead

Yep thats true

The sounds are to die for! Thanks man! :D
