Assuming most of us car guys are also electronic gadgets fans, and in the general cathegory of electronic gadgets, videogames are included (PC, dedicated console or otherwise), what is (or are) your favorite car games?

Hmmm, had to think a bit about this one.

1. Project Gotham Racing 2, not a sim, but damn fun
2. Gran Turismo 2, best one, the only thing GT3 did better was graphics
3. 24 Hours of LeMans on the Dreamcast, fricken rocked
4. Sega GT
5. Ferrari 355 Challenge. Was awesome on the Dreamcast and it's pretty good on the PS2


One of these days when I have spare cash, I think I'll invest in some computer upgrades along with a steering wheel to play the real racing sims. Such as Gran Prix Legends and all the mods for F1 2002.

My fav is Grand Prix Legends, but it's too difficult to drive.But when you're able to control the car, the fun is too big to be described. But when you don't, GRRRR!You'll feel so nervous.

For me, the game that make me feel more the sensations of driving a car is Need 4 Speed Porsche 2000. If you calibrate in a good way the force feedback of the wheel, you feel the traction of the car, the engine, the lose of control...

Yeh have to agree on the whole Gran Turismo. There have always been the arcade racers, but there has never been a racing game as good as the GT series. I can't wait for GT4 either, but then again they always delay the damn release!

i also got gt4 prologue,, the game looked amazing, and physics are an improved from gt3

SegaGt 2002 on Xbox was super fun and addicting. i had at least 80 hours on my save game last time i played it.

Project Gotham 1 and 2 are my favorites, though :mrgreen:

i played the GT4 demo, much better graphics and sound then the one before. one this i didn't like was how teh speedometer was displayed, but that's not really a big deal. can't wait til it comes out

anyone who has played Project Gotham Racing 2 knows that there is NOTHING better!!!
GT3 is not fun at all, GT3 Concept is the best one in that series and that one is very good! so if you have missed it buy it now! its not just a couple of more cars it much better feeling than GT3.

but above them all as i said is the wonderful PGR2

its just spot on!

For me this is a no-brainer. GT3... I played the game last night... it must be my favorite. Another game I must mention, however, is Initial D. This game is as fake as the come... in fact it is probably the most unrealistic game I've ever played.... but it's pretty damn fun. haha

If someone have already won at Ferrari Chalenge arcade, tell to me. I have already won at Suzuka race track, in manual mode, about 10 times. Nice!!

Tell to me, because here in Brazil i´m the unique that won on this game, on the arcade, that stays on the malls.

Well, they're all racing games but I can't stick to cars alone so:

1) Microprose GP500 (older but still the most realistic bike sim) :twisted:
2) TOCA Race Driver (very nice touring car sim, not the most realistic but definitly fun)
3) Need for Speed series (the first two were the best IMHO, altough I also enjoyed NFS Underground I must admit)

No Project Gotham, Midnight Club or Gran Turismo cause I just have a PC and no game console...

If thats what ur talking about, its awesome. But after u've finished it, it doesnt really grip you. Though the game is worth a buy.
