Haha, that guy had a pretty bad day. Why is the taxi so nice? Is this a limousine service or something?

its standard prcedure for firefighters to rip open any car with injured people in it... i wonder where exactly common sense comes into the equation but ah well... i believe it's so that they can get the people out without moving them, to avoid spinal injury

As it turns out on of the injured in the taxi had a broken neck and was inches away from being paralyzed. No doubt that the firefighter made the right call and followed procedure. You should always help at accident sites even if that means your car is being fucked up. You can always get a new car for the insurance money but lifes are harder to replace.

If this the case, how come they dont cut the roof off every ambulance that has an injured person in?

Actually, it is because when a person is loaded into an ambulance they are already on a backboard, no matter how small the injury, as there is always the possibiblity of back damage. Once they are safe on a backboard, they can be transported around and moved, as there is no risk of their head moving.
