Ask graywolf about talking your wait out of handcuffs in the back seat of a Houston Police car... it can be done.. even after the wrecker arrives to tow your car away ;)

In my long history of getting pulled over by the cops, the one time I handed a PBA card along with my license and registration I still got a ticket.

The only difference was I didn't get any bullshit power tripping talk from the cop. He just handed back my license along with the ticket and walked back to his car.

That sounds very interesting!

I'd like to see this in Holland though, they will throw you in jail anyway since they can arrest you and put you in jail for 6 hours for doing nothing! :o :|

Why stop, you will not need to talk your way out of it....just drive your way out of it... :P

Well if its a matter of going so fast that they will take your licence at least, not much to loose by outrunning them then.... :|

What you need is a fast car, like a M5 for instance (link)

BMW M5 - Police chase getaway - YouTube

But the owner of the car (license holder) got a ticket of 4000 Euros

Still if you own such a car thats peanuts

;) Its a trick I'll never forget, learned from the master.

I once talked a ticket down from 50 over to 5... but not quite out...

No current or former police officer in this blog mentioned that how you measure job effectiveness of an officer...well, it is by writting tickets. Officer works on 'Stats' which are kind of like quotas that they have to work on for the month, and they have to meet close to that requirement (usually about 80% or more) or there will be trouble from their Captains for not doing their job.

Oh, that explains why there were lines of cars pulled over for random breath testing the other day.

I prefer to obey laws, and thus avoid getting pulled over. Useful info, though.

^so y design cars that easily go over 100mph, when the max speed limit is 65?

we're meant to break it...

I recently talked my way out of being fined when caught doing 170 on the freeway (100 limit) side-to-side with another car (some call it racing :P ).

Got pulled over (cops had headlights off so I didn't see them approaching from behind until the red/blue flashing) and was told my car would be impounded and I'd lose my license.

After doing the sob story and saying I had a relatively clean record in 6 yrs of driving he told me it was my lucky night and he'd let me go - got a mark agianst my name but no fine or anything).

The fact it was midnight probably meant he couldn't be bothered sitting around waiting for the towie and then doing the paperwork.

Lucky me I suppose. :D

i've only talked my way out of a speeding ticket once. and it wasn't so much talking as it was being cool with the cop. He had to give me something so instead of a 54 in a 35 he gave me a $25 no seatbelt ticket which didn't count as a moving violation.

Motorcycle cops however, you're better off just to sit there with your mouth shut because no matter how nice you are, you're getting a damn ticket :? Fortunately the 58 in a 40 didn't show up when my insurance co. ran my WA license :D

Not in built-up areas. And I seriously doubt that the car I drive is capable of safely going too much faster than the speed limit.

I've talked my way out of tickets the last two times I've been pulled over. I was shot with laser the 2nd time, and paced the 1st time. Knock on wood I havnt been pulled over in over a year or so, I'm trying to calm my right foot and be more careful.

If your a nice to the cop and show alot of respect towards them it helps. For the most part it seems like they make up their mind about whether to write you a ticket when they talk to you, but sometimes they know they are going to write you a ticket even before they talk to you, and at that point, you are screwed.

I know this story LOL

The story is this, RC may have been in the back of the squad car, then he was let off when Gray was there :P

I've never had a speeding ticket; but I've been pulled over for driving with suspision of drug trafficing (i had a gheto car in a nicer city)

You would be really, really suprised how stupid some people are. It may be common sense for some, but it may be the biggest thing sense the wheel for others

And the wrecker may or may not have been inspecting how to get his car on the back while Rc tried on his new handcuff accessories. I may have been in the passenger seat at this time.

Yea, that's the jist of it. I've been pulled over once before (illegal left turn . . . that I didn't know about) and the cop let me off with a warning. There are some good ways to mess with cops while pulled over but I don't think I'd want to risk further penalties.

That's pretty weird, and rather extreme.
