Awesome laptime - but the fact that it has been able to lap the Ring without crashing is even more impressive!! :D :P
LMAO

Insane figures, yet so close to one another  :D

I beginning to believe that the Lp640 is able to drive fast without crashing!

I don't remember if its direct competitor, the Ferrari 599 GTB, has been tested ? I remember seing a 10. ... on the 0-200 km/h somewhere :?:

so close both a 400 and 500 hp car can go faster in street form :P :) dont get me wrong, i like the murci.. still undecided about the 640... maybe will have to do a article about comparing both... well, all four!

that ring time is a crap, it can do much much better than that!

uh... you do know that HvS is one of the top drivers on NS, right? a man familiar with the LP640 may be able to get an additional 2-3 seconds... even when comparing vs. Walter Rohl in CGT times, and 997 GT3 times.

so, what are you basing your information on that it can do much better then 7:47 ? you do know the car tips the scales at 1800+ KG's right?

I think your going to get used to the LP640 styling. As for the performance it's nice to see such a heavy car do at least a decent lap time on the nurburgring,

but I do think Lamborghini needs to put Murci on a BIG diet :P

Impressive numbers, for a pretty fat car.. Damn that thing would be fast if it went on a diet!

How about this.

6.2L Murcielago did a 7:43 in 2002 by Autocar magazine. Murcielago LP640 is faster than 6.2 Murcielago. And I also thinks that it faster than CarreraGT on a straight. Yep.
I'm sure Horst von Saurma is a great driver, but It's don't meen that he did all he can do make a faster time on Murcielago LP640.

Please forgive my english...

Yeah lose a few hundred kilo and I'm sure the numbers would be "supercar" terroritory  ...jk.

The Lambo is sure one hell of a car though on the street with the presence that it has of being "low, wide and razor sharp".

What's the base price for the LP640?

the times alone look good yet when you compare it to other supercars its not that great.

autobild isn't known for thier reputable numbers, and never has been :| note that the Veyron has a supposed lap time of 7:40 as well... all unsubstantiated. There are reasons why people trust Sport auto 1000 times more then anybody, with very few exceptions.

keep in mind that the LP640 also is a production version that HvS drove, and may be significantly different than that which Giorgio Sanna drove with full factory support. But, it is possible
