Looks like I may have called the Forza 2 Bullshit Flag 100% correct...
...wouldn't i be really sad for them if I was helping uncover the truth.

FM2 is beginning to like a bucket of proverbial poop ;) - PGR3 with a Paint Shop addon :P

I was surfing on the net and found this forum post. I checked xbox.com. And i can't believe my eye's.
Is the following true????
Based on the recent changes on the Xbox.com site as well as comments by Che, the FM2 community manager, it seems Forza Motorsport 2 has been hit by a pretty big "downgrade grenade" (he he must mock other sites). The major ones that are sticking out:
- 12 cars (racers) reduced to 8 cars (racers)
- 4xMSAA reduced to 2xMSAA
- "Over 60 tracks" reduced to "Over 45 tracks"
- "18 environments" reduced to "12 environments"
- "13 real-world licensed circuits" reduced to "several real-world licensed circuits"

what they are probobly going to do is make the other stuff available on XBOX Marketplace for an "addition sum of money". God damnit, if this game sucks, imma fucking kick someones ass and throw my 360 at Bill Gates himself!

I am willing to bet the DVD format cant hold enough hires textures etc... and since XBox360 is not going to natively support an internal HD-DVD drive.. they are SOL.
Notice all the fanboys posting "Well - I am sure it will still be awesoem with reduced cars, tracks, features and number of on track cars" -- they have been bumped frm 12 to 8 cars at once. :P
I thought the XBox360 was some heavy weight hardware - but rumour has it that 60fps was only possible with 8 cars at once.. after all the 12 cars at once hype... :P

basically the way that I feel, however I wont download shit from the Marketplace, becuase then I know they will be ripping us off.
RC, it might not be that the DVD can't hold enough info, it might be the delays, and they want to get the game on the shelves. Just a thought.

Lack of track variety and no decent steering wheel was the let down.
And the fact all the down load content was just more variation of the same limited car physics models..

don't know, even that its a big downgrade, still I'm hoping for better physics, looks and AI, maybe thats why they reduced the contain, so you'll be able to DL it later...
It's not that they're saying its not gonna have realism or less cars, so thats a plus... its just less features not less quality of a game...
Also GTR is coming to the 360, so...
I'm just disappointed that it looks like FM2 won't have all of the cars that the first one had. Yes it will have more in total, but you'd think it could simply add to the collection

I cakk BS on that claim of theirs.
Once the game ships, the comany will need to devote resources to the next title, and the revenue from $5 downloads will not justify full development effort.
They may have 1, 2 tracks maximum for download, and say 10 cars - and then the "Downloadabl" support will dry up, just like it did for PG3...
Why? The next big thing will be coming, improvments in tools and engines so they will put the effort into making assets for the "next game".
Thats why Sonygave up on GTHD.
I call total BullShit on the "much more content via download" - and so far I am batting 1.000 for predictions re Tur 10 and Forza ;)

It is total BS...
Where are all the upgrades for PGR3 they promised?
The reason? The development team is off producing assets for new games.
This is the reality of Software Produciotn... you sell Version 1.0 and then patch it when required, otherwise you set the team off to work on the next profitable project.
As soon as FM2 ships they will be focusing on FM3... ;)
So does this mean GT5 will pwn? :P
Probably not - but if it looks like GTHD with FFB support and some decent cars and tracks, and maybe damage - it will be great fun.

Speaking of paying for content. Remeber those Forza 2 videos with the damn BMW M6? Well guess fucking what!!!! Go to Forza 2's official site and see their FINAL OFFICIAL Car List for the European cars and Guess FUCKING WHAT? NO BMW M6!!!! Damn thats gotta suck for all those thinking about Buying Forza 2. Just a hint that microtransitions will be a part of the game already. :(

A guy on another forum I visit did some work on Forza. He's calling it Forza 1.5.
The reason stuff is being left out is due to time contraints. They've greatly underestimated the amount of work that was needed and can't push the game back any further. So, they strip stuff out.
Sucks wang, but oh well, I'll still be buying it.

Kinda messed up. All the Fanboys will be pissed I bet. I would be hella suprised if the graphics are superior to that of PGR3. Only time will tell....But I bet that there will be alot of those Microtransition downloads alavible.

Oh dear what a shame. Ill still get the game as it will still be pretty decent I would imagine. But since I've never been a fan, im not really feeling the anger for the stuff that is missing.
Then again everytime I turn my xbox on the 4 red lights come on. Does that mean its dead? I cant be arsed with all this console crap there not as simple as before.

I mean all the dev time, money and hardware - yet a $29 PC game supports 900 degrees, clutch and h-gate shifter...

FWIW, it's possible that a lot of the content thats being pulled might be free on the Xbox Marketplace, I wouldn't count on it however.

I will probably still buy it too. As much as I like real-life driving, I dont really care for sims. I liked the original Forza and even though its sounds like this wont be the jump forward many including myself were expecting, I think it may retain some merit and entertainment.

Yeah I would be hella suprised if Xbox put shit to download for free without having to use any acievements or any of that shit. Very unlikely. And even if they did dont ya need that added memory such as an HDD or can it be saved to the Memory card?
Also regarding that Phyics thing, I think on the turn 10 blog that CHE guy was talking about Forza 2 having the same physics engine as Forza 1 with a few minor tweaks here and there.

The show logo was made from scratch, but once you make a design, whether it be the entire car or somthing like a logo, you can save the entire design so you don't have to do it from scratch and you can apply it to any car in your collection if you wish.
If you haven't played any racing sims in the past you might have to spend quite a bit of time getting used to the controls, but the gameplay is going to be spot on. This is going to be, by far, the best simulated racing game on a console to date.
