I have a question: Arnt they just going to include all the footage and episodes from last season that were already "in the bag" when they stopped the show?? Seems to me they should just give us those first, then continue on with the new stuff......and just make it a longer season. That would sure be a treat.

I mean they still havnt tested the 997 turbo and such.

I would love to see a classic Jeremy VS Hampster epic using the 997 Turbo. That would be sweet. Or better yet, Jeremy in his Ford GT driving it a few thousand miles hehe.

One other thing on my wish list: Top Gear REALLY needs to test drive the Saleen S7 twin turbo...the one thats faster then a Bugatti Veyron I mean (that would be the one with the optional factory power kit upgrade).

I would also love to see more "challenges".

Some ideas:

1. Give Jeremy a Porsche 997 GT3 RS and see if he can lap the Nurburgring in under 8:20.
2. An "affordable Ferrari" challenge with a price cap of L5,000
3. Have one of them do a stage in a real WRC race. My vote is in a prodrive STI. Wouldnt that be freakin sweet!!
4. Make Jeremy come to the USA and do a NASCAR race.....damn would that be funny.
5. Have them build up a classic car such as the classic Lotus that Evo mag did....and then make them race it at the Le Manns classic race series or whatever. Damn that would be entertaining.
6. Have Hammond compete in the Baja 1,000 or whatever its called or the Dakar Rally. Errr...ok maybe use James this time.
7. Send Jeremy up with the Blue Angles while he is in America doing the NASCAR thing hehe and watch him throw up and black out.
8. Have Top Gear build up a tuner car (like maybe an RS4, Evo MR, or WRX Sti Spec C) and go to driving school....then make him race it in the British Tuner Challenge series or whatever that thing is called.
9. While in America doing the other crazy crap, Jeremy must prove that he has balls and drive a Pro-series drag car. The challenge is for him to post a record 1/4 mile time or something....just to prove that the british know how to go fast in a straight line just as good as Americans... (can you imagine the slagging he would give Hamster after that one!! hehe)
10. And my all time favorite racing challenge idea: Make all of them compete in the Iditarod Sled Race up in Alaska (the worlds craziest and coolest race). But let Jeremy take a Range Rover while Hammond and May destroy him with dog power!!!!

Damn, Top Gear should pay me for these ideas. I should be creative director for thier series or something!!

YES! They got the Veyron again :mrgreen: A dream came true!!! But as you were saying it really looks more like series 8 than the epic series 7... But this trailer was very short and they didn´t want to spoil anything IMO.

That was a great episode! Especially the part with the Jag, they did an awesome report on that! I loved the way it was introduced :D Aweful colour though.. Anyway, now it's beyond obvious the tire of Hammond was torn apart, and nothing with him ignoring the instructor or something. Except that he didn't have that raised seat :P Can't wait to next week again :D

PS Was it me or did James have extraordinary long hair? :P And IMO, Richard looked a bit tired.

Was a cool real TG episode, some humour and hilarious stuff with the road working and nice review about the XKR and V8 Vantage! I missed the news bit sadly, always liked that..

I was a bit shocked by the crash, damn it was nasty. Shows clearly that it wasn't his fault at all! Even more shocked when he said he was going to have the biggest crash ever before he went off :shock:

Anyway all is fine, I enjoyed it and good to see Hammond back!

Anyway I thought this episode was pretty bad. The XKR piece was good and I love that car even if it is underpowered for its class. I thought it was kind of unfair for that car to get a Stig lap under such bad conditions. We will never know how fast that car is with the Stig driving under good conditions.

Jamie Oliver was ok, about average for celeb in a reasonable priced car.

Richard Hammond’s crash footage was very well done and I’m glade they got that over with like they were.

BUT!! That road construction piece was just terrible! Totally boring, I almost fell asleep during it and not funny. And it took up HALF THE F'ing SHOW! Just more forced comedy that has nothing to do with cars at all! Plus there was no news segment, so this show really only had 1 car review, the XKR. This show has just gotten terrible. These skits are getting so obscure…. repaving a road in the middle of nowhere? Couldn’t they have at least put some kind of sports car on that road when it was done and at least have given us a few shots of it driving down the road?

Just rubbish. Half of this episode had nothing to do with cars. And they only featured 1 car and only had the Stig driving once in terrible track conditions. A really bad start to the new series.

Whilst there was a lack of cars and a strange absence of a series preview in this show, I thought it was fantastic!

Yeh I thought the bit about eating the fruit off the bushes was hilarious although I wasn't sure if this was something that might be "british" only humor.

All in all I thought it was an excellent first show and a very welcome return to out favorite show. 8/10 for me :D

And yeh the anti caps mod can be a pita sometimes, its been in place since 2004 though.
