30" Toshiba CRT HDTV 1080i - Great picture quality, especially the colors.. but it's just too damn small compared to the sound you hear from the Monitor Audio Silver S speakers.

Comcast HD Cable, HD Upscaling DVD/DiVX player, PS2, turntable (with wooden cartridge and carbon fiber slip mat), NAD CD player, all connected to a monster NAD reciever.

Watching DVDs with a DTS sound track is better than the theater, except for the big screen.

It's not too bad living with an audiophile for a roommate ;)

Yeah, those speakers have really spoiled my ears. Music just doesnt sound the same on anything else I listen to.

Aluminum cones, silver cables and vinyl records will do that to ya..

lol, I focus too much on the speakers that I fail notice the TV is barely longer than the center channel.

I never heard of having speakers close to the TV effecting the image.. TV still looks great with these monsters next to them.

Watching movies is great, just wish we had a bigger screen to match the gigantic sound coming from the loud speakers. Also wish we lived in a proper house so we could crank up the volume and really use the speakers the way they were meant to be.

Playing GT4 with this 5.1 setup is just awesome. Too bad the engine sounds aren't the best, but one thing that sounds real are the rumble strips in the corners..

With the two 10" subwoofer cones, you actually feel like you're driving over the corners.

I used to have a 32inch Sony Triton and we had some huge subs rite next to them and they left like a purplish and yelliowish spots on the TV Screen. I guess its due to the magnet being to close? BTW the speakers were some old ass Bang and Ofluson B70 or E70 or some shit like that.

Also I played GT4 with a huge sub and some tweaters and its sounded great except for the tire screeches which were fucking annoying as hell and the crappy ass engine sounds so I took off racing tranny all the time to sorta improve the soundo of the car. Also it gave off bass but just not the kinda clean bass I was expecting. :(

I'm pretty sure all of my roommates stuff is magnetically shielded so they don't effect any devices around them..

I know the studio monitors I just bought for my room are definitely magnetically shielded so there is no interference what so ever.

The tire and engine sounds just don't cut it in GT... funny cause they always make it seem like they put tons of effort into recording individual engine sounds

Well thats good to hear.

Also regarding the GT sound. They do put alot of effort into getting the sounds its just they dont do dyno on every car or infact I dont even think they do dyno. They for all GT series so far have just taken sound samples from revving and what not no dyno what so ever from what I read along time ago when they were making GT4. I just dont get it why it sounds so crap but hopefully with this next gen hardware they will want to push it a little bit and go for some high quality uncompressed audio with some dynos or some shit.
