Haha!!

Earlier this arvo I was walking to get dinner and saw a nice red 360 Spider parked at the local petrol station.

30mins later I was back after the driver managed to smash it into a traffic light.

He was at the pub and had gotten completely drunk and after failing to chat up a couple of ladies decided to do some showing off in his car outside the pub - the result can be seen.

The cops took him away and the crowd started to gather, great entertainment.

Shame about the car but the dickhead doesn't deserve one.

Poor car. It's a shame that any retard with enough cash can purchase a Ferrari. I hope it gets impounded and the owner doesn't get it back.

Pretty impressive to hit that pole dead on right in the middle of the front while DUI.

Don't know how insurance works down under but I hope he has to pay for it himself. F***n retard.

Good to see a crashed Ferrari that didnt split up into two or spontaneously combust.

I am sure by now the sobered up drunk man must be wishing he was swallowed up under the ground. Trashing a lovely car like that!

Ah, what an IDIOT! He deserves 10 years in jail, and after that a Nova to drive for the rest of he's life...

how is it any different then crashing a ford fiesta; other then the cost of the car?

He deserves what every other drunk driver gets. Thankfully, no one was injured besides ego.

why not? lets say he's very proud of his fiesta... not everybody has a car. Drunk drivers crash cars all the time mate... and all kinds of cars.. regardless of showing off even.

Well, If he didint impresed the girls with his wallet, he tougt, by showing of in his Ferrari, will instantly become a pussy magnet....as if he would had a Fiesta in that situation, he would look more of an idiot.

I agree that drunk drivers should pe shot on site, but who can stop them to drive drunk?

Don't be so quick to condemn the "person" that has an accident in a car.. it could so easily be someone you know that could have an "accident" and then would you have the same anger towards them because of the car they were driving or the nature of the accident???

Naturally, but when somebody jumps in a car after a few pints of beer it's a different story, eh ? :?

No really - you are all 2 faced jack asses..

You were all over him for trashing a Ferrari - not for being drunk.. you are only adding that as an "after the fact"...

Again - don't be so quicl to wish bad on others.... this could easily be you runcle, dad, brother, friend -- as bas as getting in the car drunk is... unless you are a zero drinker, like I am - no alcohol ever... you might easily get behind the wheel after a couple bears 2many.. I see it all the time.

Think guys... don't be so quick to pull the "he derves to die" card...

Look how quick people called the "driver" out.. and it wasn't even the driver, but the tow truck driver..

Again, that could have easily been your friend or you having a slight lapse in judgement pulling out to pass and ending up in an accident .. think about it guys..

RC45
12-17-2006, 07:28 PM
^ I never drink when I have to drive... not even a single beer, and I have zero sympathy for drunk drivers

Sure - and that's how it should be - but what if someone dies, does it matter in the eye's of law if the driver was drunk or if the driver had a lapse in judgement and was speeding or passing or changing radio stations or reprimanding kids in the back seat... ??

All I am saying is stop being so 2-faced.. if that was your uncle, father, brother or friend you wouldn't be so quick to wish bad on them.

That is all.

Brother, father and friends have no excuse in my eyes.
As you RC(probably) I am 100% abstinent and HATE drunks in any way or form.

Mattk - turns out the owner was indeed English, so you may well have been right. ;)

He blew 0.26 when tested, the legal alcohol limit here is 0.05 - so he was WELL over. No excuses RC, he is a dickhead.

Mattk
12-17-2006, 09:31 PM
26% of his blood was alcohol!!! Heavens!

Damn, I don't think I've ever encountered people that drunk outside of motor vehicles more than a few times.

I have no respect for drunk drivers as well. I always take a bus if I have to drink, or a cab. Of course, I can't actually drive with any amount of alcohol in the body because my licence doesn't let me yet.

Mattk - turns out the owner was indeed English, so you may well have been right.

I am not saying there is any excuse.

There is none.

The guy hit a pole.

No one was killed, and this entire thread is "he deserves this that and the other - doesn't deserve to drive a ferrari etc etc"

My comment is to all you 2 faced people for "throwing the book" at his guy twice.. once for crashing a ferrari and another for driving drunk..

He hit a pole.. not another person and yet you all call for blood and the death penalty.... so again, what would you say if that was your father brother or uncle and he drove drunk yet hit a pole - we don't need to hear about "what if" because it never happened.

Would you say the same things?

I think not..

In fact... I can think of a situation close to home where the outcome was a deadly accident and the same folks calling for blood here, are offering condolensces elsewhere.

All I am suggesting is amore measured and appropriate response to this accident.. the driver simply broke the law..

Think about it.. as we have seen accidents can and do happen to anyone.. the momentary lapse in judgement could be 15 drinks too many or ill time manouvres

dingo
12-17-2006, 10:16 PM
Matt - not 26%, 0.26%. ;)

RC45 - I never asked for the death penalty or anything like it, just said that someone who drinks THAT much shouldn't have the right to own a Ferrari or any other high powered car. Of course if he has the money he can have one, nothing I can do about it.

He will lose his license for some time and hopefully he'll learn his lesson. :)

Why does one person deserve a ferrari more then another? They cost a certain amount, and therefore, limit the clientel. you know this.

As to saying people who drink that much shouldn't be allowed to own a F car... well, that would eliminate 90+% of Ferrari owners right there. The difference is, that 89% of them don't make the wrong decision to get behind the wheel when intoxicated. This is no different then the small percentage of people that make that desision in regular cars.

The fact is, he was wrong, and we are glad he is not hurt; and nobody else was hurt. He has paid a high price for his choice... and that price is going to predominatnly come from the damages of the car; since nobody was hurt.

In how many different forums did you post the pics?

2 or 3, but I think everyone in Perth had them emailed to them yesterday - it was insane!! One friend received them 14 times from different people and my brother got it 12 times at work......my pics were the talk of the town.

However I checked the copyright law and I own the copyright the minute the photo is taken and nobody can reproduce/publish it without my consent. The TV station and online news DID NOT get my permission to use them, so therefore they have breached copyright.

I got an email from the Managing Director of Channel 7 (big TV station here) and we are discussing a solution. :D

My photos are now being used on the news here (TV), surely thats copyright infringement - I was never asked even though there are no watermarks (silly me).

The same thing happened to me, though not on tele. I posted some scoops with my watermark on the net. Some friends who run an automotive news website asked if they could use them, which I kindly allowed. One of their competitors (actually someone they fired a few months before) copied the pics, cropped them so the watermark wasn't visible anymore, and posted them on his site. The most digusting thing was he posted a news item together with my pics telling he got these pics exclusively from one of his contacts. Utter bullshit.

I emailed him asking to remove those pics immediately and stop lying. They guy even didn't had the guts to admit he stole them. It took 2 days before he removed them (with some other stolen pics). I'm too kind, I should have put charge against him. But where should you do such a thing? I don't think the local police office will know a lot about copyright infringements.

Exactly - that pole should snapped off at ground level.. that's the correct way to engineer energy dissappation.. right? Have the affected bodies snap into pieces .. :P ;)

Wutputt - unfortunately court action is the only way to go, have to get yourself a lawyer and fight them.

You can get legal advice for something like $20-30 (30mins advice) so I might do it out of interest to see what rights I have in this situation.
