I am getting a 360 and i need a game should i get gears of war or the Halos (1 and 2) waiting for 3?

if ur getting a 360 my advice would be to go "next gen" all the way and get Gears of War which is also highly praised but then again i never played halo except a couple of levels of the first one on my pc way back

Definitely get Gears of War. Halo freezes all the time on my 360 and Halo 2 isn't good enough to ignore Gears.

well i like Halo a lot but i have heard great things about gears yet i am not sure if i should wait for the price to drop since i am buying the system, cooler, controller, and game(s) at one time.

In that case, you should check out gamefly.com

I've found it to be great value since a lot of the launch games (and games that have been coming out recently) are not worth the $60

haven't played gears of war, but I'm a Halo addict, you should be able to get halo 1 n 2 at a decent price now so you can keep with the story for the 3rd part, and if you're getting Xbox Live, Halo 2's multiplayer is the best thing out there, seriously

yeah that is what i was thinking to wait for gears to come down on price. and just get the two halos for cheaper and get use to the 360.

yeah gears of war looks awesome but.... i am not sure if i want to spend 60 bucks on it. when i can get two games for cheaper.

Halo 3 will be out before GoW goes down in price. I say, bite the bullet and get one now. It's worth it for GoW alone.

just saw a couple of Gears vids, the graphics are amazing, and the gameplay a bit different but nothing too exciting. I would buy the Halos and wait for Halo 3. As for buying the cooler, if I'm not wrong the new 360's have no overheating issuea so you should check that out. Maybe you'll save some money and end up buying all 3 games.

^^^ well the cooler is only 20 dollars. and it says it can drop areas of the case up to ten degrees its cheap insurance. My friend overheated his. i am not sure how but he did.

Do not buy the cooler!!! Have a look around, there are pics of them fusing themselves to the console and to fry the power supply. You are better off spending $10 on a little fan and pointing it at it.

Just put it in an appropriate place with plenty of room around it. Don't cover the exhaust holes either. I haven't had a problem with mine, but it does get pretty damn warm. It only locked up once, while watching the credits after beating GoW! LOL Haven't had anything other than that.

simple, forget about halo 1 and 2. geat Gears of War, then obviosuly get Halo 3 when it comes out omg cant wait.

well i was not going to get that big one i was going to get this one its a stand with a fan it in. it pushes air up through the system

just got done talking with my friend who is huge into the 360 and he said hands down Gears so...... i am going all out with Gears he said no contest until maybe Halo 3 and he truely enjoys Halo.
