Hi, i am new and i would like to know... :D No i am joking 8)
I just want to thanks ppl who let a comment when they D/L in the Video Vault, of course that would make a lot of comments if everyone let one, but it is always pleasant to have some when you upload a video. :wink:
I would like to point out too that the 5th Gear Review Porsche Boxster vs BMW Z4 was downloaded 9 532 times !! for 4 691 registered users ???

I think it might be nice if you had something in the video vault to tell new members like me that they can download videos straigt away.

FOr you new folks Ill give you a hint why things are the way they are. Used to be any registered member could download the reviews and the member uploads. Well that worked great and then along came someone who thought they would earn some brownie points on some other site and they posted a few links to the vault on the other forum. Well instantly the folks on the other forum found out you ahd to be a member (note this was when we had maybe 1000 members). So there was a HUGE influx of members and all was fine and dandy till someone went one step further and acutally posted the direct link information on another site. And that lead to someone else posting it on another site and before we knew JW was providing videos for the world.

Well some of you might think thats cool man I would be jumping up and down for joy to get that much attention. Those of you who think that way probbably never had to pay for web space or fully understand the fact that disk space and bandwidth cost money and the more you use the more it costs.

So thats when the vault was taken off line and was re opened with a much greater restricted access. Offical videos released in the vault are for JW members only. Not to be posted all over the net. And the concept of JW is community. Not a couple thousand folks who visit per day to see if there is a new video to download. But a community where there is a couple hundred active members who get participate and add to the community. JW is a true community where you get what you give. Make JW a better place and JW will satisfy your need for auto videos.

Even though yg60m thread was posted as a joke, I am glad that the responses to "how to download" threads are milder now and not as brutal as some were in December. I've been visiting JW for a couple of months now and up until Dec. 19 I viewed the site as a guest, mainly to read the topics and generally be entertained by the content. What I always like about this site was that the members were supportive of each other and you could post anything without fear of being hammered with personal insults - except in good nature fun. We all see the newb download threads posted over and over... but we are all here to be entertained, gain some insight, share our opinions and interact with the people and features of JW

I want to specify that i don't post this Topic as a joke but to thank some member for their posts in the Video Vault where i ulpoaded some vids.
I don't upload the vids to be thanked but it's always pleasant to have good comments. I wanted to point out too the number of d/l for the Jabbas videos that was very high and i had the answer by fishfreek.
I begun my topic by a joke because therer were a lot of topics for the d/l and sometimes i saw several in the most recents, that proves that some ppl (not all) didn't even take time to read the home page.
Welcome to the new members and especially for those who are there to be active in the community. :D

My earlier post was not meant as an insult to yg60m - I thought it was funny and did notice that it was a thanks for some vids. Some newer members did ask the vid download question again and my comments were meant as "glad to see the responses to newb vid questions" have mellowed. It's fun to see some humor on this topic.
