BTW, just to chit chat a little bit.. I obviously didn't checked the website today to have the surprise while watching the TV coverage, but so far, the first short European stages revealed a little about this season..

First, the 2WD bike did incredibly well dang.. no idea if it's more "enduro" orientated than the other ones and I can't wait to see if the second driving wheel will help in Africa too.
Then, impressive of the X5 are doing well.. already in 2003, as a first partecipation they did a good performance, especially Alphand, but this year seems even better... and not with some sort of racing car like the Pajero EVO can be.
As for the Touareg?... Poor Jutta struggled last year with the VW buggy, but I'm not sure that experience helped out really that much on the development of the Tourage racing this year so basically we could consider this 2004 season as the first try.. still curious to watch..
I really hope not to see the Pajero EVO as they were in 2003.. to strong for the others... I'd really like to see some good fights with the Nissans (especially looking forward Colin's performance, very curious, and my fav driver is Vatanen, no doubt) but also with the BMW.
I'd like also to see Schlesser crossing the finish line this season, maybe in the first 5 or 6...
And wish Peteransel more luck than he had in 2003 LOL.

All in all this Paris-Dakar will be GREAT!

I try to watch it on a daily basis on RTL5 as well.

I really respect those guys (and some girls) that compete in Paris-Dakar.

Just in the news programs and not every day, the only sports i follow regularly is F1 and MotoGP.

I try to see it on Eurosport.

Portuguese television sucks about motorsport... Very bad... Not even a decent program about cars we have, I just got eurosport to see the Dakar now, wrc etc.

The other channel i have is motors, a little french a little english, very confusing.

They took away Dsf now.

watched it every day. It must be very exhausting to do (especially this year), but I stil would like to do it myself. Probabely within five years, as a mechanic.

novass, i hear ya! I ordered speedchannel almost 2 years ago just to be able to watch WRC and it seems the coverage has declined every year since, whilst NASCRAP is on the rise.....i feel like pulling my hair out everytime i turn on speed hoping for something interesting, and getting stuck with non-stop discussion about the best way to turn left.

Haven't watched it closely before this year, but this year I followed it on Eurosports every evening, mainly to see how Colin would manage.
